In RAID: Shadow Legends your vault fills with gear faster than you can sort it. For a beginner, it's easy to drown in stars, rarity and substats. Here's a simple filter: in a couple of seconds you can decide what to sell and what to keep.
1. The Main Rule: Rank and Rarity
The fastest way to shrink your vault is to look at rank (stars) and rarity. For a beginner it works like this: sell everything below 5 stars. The exception is 4-star Speed boots early on if you have nothing better. 5-6 stars is where the good stuff starts.
On rarity: sell Common and Uncommon almost always. Keep Rare only in useful slots (Speed boots, Crit gloves, Accuracy or HP% chest). Keep Epic and Legendary if they are 5-6 stars and have a useful primary stat.
2. Slot and Primary Stat
Weapons, helmets and shields always give a flat stat (ATK, HP, DEF). For those, you only look at substats. Gloves, chest and boots are different: their primary stat can be a percentage or flat.
- Gloves: keep Crit Rate, Crit Damage, HP%, ATK%, DEF%. Sell flat HP/ATK/DEF.
- Chest: keep HP%, ATK%, DEF%, Accuracy, Resistance. Sell flat.
- Boots: Speed is king. Keep Speed boots, plus HP%, ATK%, DEF%. Sell flat.
3. Substats: A Simple Checklist
Substats decide whether a piece is useful. Look for: Speed, Accuracy, Crit Rate, Crit Damage, HP%, ATK%, DEF%, Resistance. Flat substats (HP, ATK, DEF) are weak, especially at high ranks.
If a piece has 2+ flat substats, it's almost always a sell. If it has Speed plus a useful percentage, keep it. If a piece is 5-6 stars but has bad substats, it can still be a temporary placeholder, but for a beginner it's easier to sell and keep the vault clean.
4. The Four-Question Quick Filter
To avoid overthinking, ask four questions in order. If the answer is 'yes', sell.
| Question | Action |
|---|---|
| Rank below 5? | Sell |
| Rarity Common or Uncommon? | Sell (except early Speed boots) |
| Gloves/chest/boots with a flat primary? | Sell |
| 2+ flat substats or no Speed/Accuracy/Crit? | Sell |
If the answer is 'no' to all, keep it. That's enough to get started.
5. What to Keep Even as a Beginner
Some gear is worth holding even if it's not perfect: Speed boots (5-6 stars), Crit Rate or Damage gloves, Accuracy or HP% chest, and any 6-star Legendary/Epic with a Speed substat. Don't sell Speed, Accuracy, Perception, Lifesteal (for campaign) and Crit Rate/Damage sets if the rank and substats are decent.
If in doubt, put it in 'quarantine': a separate folder or just don't sell it for a week. But don't keep everything — your vault has limits.
6. What to Sell Without Regret
Sell with confidence: 1-4 stars (except early Speed boots), Common/Uncommon, flat gloves/chest/boots, gear with 2+ flat substats, and niche sets like freeze, stun or taunt if they lack Speed and high rank. Don't fall for a 'pretty' set: a 4-star Legendary from a bad set is almost always worse than a 6-star Rare with the right substats.
Summary
Simple beginner filter: sell everything below 5 stars, Common/Uncommon, flat gloves/chest/boots, and gear with two or more flat substats. Keep 5-6 stars, Epic/Legendary with a useful primary stat and substats like Speed, Accuracy, Crit and percentages. This rule is enough to clear your vault without losing the truly good pieces.
