Chimera for Beginners: Phases, Teams and Rewards

The Chimera is a clan boss that many beginners avoid: it looks scary, expensive and confusing. In reality it is another endurance-and-damage marathon where team roles matter more than owning every legendary. Here is the basics: phases, first teams, gear and rewards.

What the Chimera is and how to approach it

The Chimera sits in the Clan Boss section and unlocks as your account progresses; check the in-game requirements because they depend on your current stage. You need an active clan: without a clan and keys the boss is unavailable, and rewards depend on the clan's total damage. The Chimera is not a one-run sprint: it has several phases and usually more than one team. Do not cram your whole roster into a single squad — split the roles.

Chimera phases: Lion, Goat and Serpent

The Chimera has three rough phases tied to its heads. They use different mechanics, so the same group of champions will not always perform equally. For a beginner, the key is to know what is coming and never ignore cleanse and survival.

PhaseMain threatWhat to bring
LionDirect damage and frontline pressureHealing, shields, revive, more HP and defense
GoatDebuffs and controlCleanse, block debuffs, high speed
SerpentPoisons and damage over timeCleanse, healing, regeneration, sustain

Do not try to out-damage the mechanics: if the team dies to debuffs, no damage dealer will save it. Early on it is better to survive to the end and deal steady damage than to chase a one-run record.

Teams: roles, not names

Build by roles: a main damage dealer, a debuffer with accuracy, support with healing and cleanse, a reviver and turn-meter control. If the format calls for several teams, spread these roles so no squad is completely helpless.

Among accessible epics and rares, look at Fahrakin the Fat (ally attack and HP burn), Geomancer (HP burn and passive damage), Fayne (decrease DEF and weaken), Anax (poisons and damage), Stag Knight (decrease DEF and ATK), Deacon Armstrong (turn meter and decrease DEF), Uugo (heal and cleanse) and Ursala the Mourner (revive). Starter Kael is still useful as a poison source early on.

The legendaries from the list are future targets: Firrol The Barkhorn, Tetsuya the Deliverer, Krisk the Ageless, Gnut and others are strong, but not required for your first steps. Do not break your progress for one legendary: epics often clear early Chimera more comfortably.

Gear and stats for your first runs

Forget “300% crit damage” at the start. Speed, accuracy and survivability matter more. Debuffers need accuracy — think around 150–250 depending on difficulty and boss requirements; higher is more consistent. Build damage dealers for speed and damage, support for HP, defense and speed.

  • Speed boots almost always.
  • Sets: Lifesteal, Regen or Immortal for sustain; Speed for turn order.
  • Accuracy on debuffers, not on everyone.
  • Masteries for Clan Boss: speed, accuracy and survival, not arena.

Do not copy arena builds: on the Chimera, survival and skill cycling matter more than the opening hit.

Rewards: what you get and when

Damage to the Chimera gives clan chests: shards, books, artifacts, silver and other resources. The higher your contribution and the clan's damage, the better the chest, but exact contents depend on difficulty and updates. Rewards are not instant: this is a regular source of progress, not a one-off event. Do not spend every key on day one — steady hits each cycle are better.

Common beginner mistakes

  • One team for every phase with no cleanse or healing.
  • Ignoring accuracy on debuffers — debuffs fail to land.
  • Champions that are too slow: the boss takes more turns.
  • Chasing damage while sacrificing survival.
  • Forgotten masteries and wrong sets.

Summary

Chimera for a beginner is not about a perfect roster; it is about understanding phases and roles. Build a few stable teams, give debuffers accuracy, give support cleanse and healing, and do not chase a record on your first run. Steady damage and survival will take you further than one off-meta legendary.
