Arena Shop: what to buy with Arena Medals

Arena Medals are one of the tightest resources on any account: they only come from Classic Arena wins, and two places want them — the Great Hall and the Arena Shop. Below is a practical breakdown of what is actually worth buying with medals, in what order, and where players usually waste them.

Where medals come from and how the shop works

Medals are paid out for Classic Arena wins, and the amount scales with your tier: low tiers give a handful per fight, high tiers give several times more. So the plan of 'farm Bronze and buy a shard' does not work — you raise your tier first, then you have a budget.

The Arena Shop stock is not static: offers rotate, and some items do not show up every day. Manually refreshing the list costs Gems and is almost never worth it — waiting for natural rotation is cheaper. The practical takeaway is to keep a small reserve of medals (a few hundred; the exact number depends on your tier and current prices) so you can grab a strong offer the moment it appears.

And the key point: the shop is not the only consumer. The same medals go into the Great Hall, and that is the main conflict of this whole guide.

Great Hall vs Arena Shop

The Great Hall gives permanent stat bonuses per affinity: HP, Attack, Defence, Accuracy, Resistance and Critical Damage. These are not consumables — the percentages work on every champion, in every mode, forever. Accuracy from the Hall decides whether your debuffer lands anything at all, and Critical Damage decides whether your nuker finishes the job in Arena.

The shop, by contrast, sells consumables: shards, Skill Tomes, Energy and other one-off value. Useful, but in the long run the Hall is stronger because it never runs out.

Working rule: until the Hall branches you need are covered, medals go there, and the shop only gets spent on genuinely strong offers. Once the Hall is nearly finished, it makes sense to redirect the flow into the shop.

What to buy: priorities

EnergyPlayers finishing an event or a tournament pushMedium

Silver and minor boostersAlmost nobodyLow
  • Shards. The main reason to open the Arena Shop at all. Treat them as a lottery, though: one good pull can fix your roster, but it is never guaranteed, so do not gamble the medals you need for Accuracy.
  • Skill Tomes. Best value when you own an epic that actually plays for you: Deacon Armstrong, Madame Serris, Genbo the Dishonored, Ursala the Mourner. A cut cooldown on a champion you use every day beats one more partial bonus somewhere in the Hall. Do not buy Tomes if you have nobody to spend them on.
  • Energy. Buy it for a specific goal — finishing an event, squeezing out tournament points — not 'just in case'.

What to skip and why

  • Silver. It is farmed in Campaign and dungeons; spending medals on it is a straight loss.
  • Small consumables you get anyway. Only if you are desperate to close an event.
  • Manual shop refreshes with Gems. Almost always a net loss — waiting for rotation is cheaper.
  • Buying everything while the Hall is unfinished. The classic mistake: empty the shop, then wonder why your debuffer keeps getting resisted.

Spending plan by stage of the game

Early game

Medals are scarce, so every purchase counts. Priority is Accuracy in the Hall for the affinity of your main debuffer, then Critical Damage for your damage dealer. In the shop, only an Ancient Shard is worth breaking that rule — and only after the next Hall level is paid for.

Mid game

The Hall starts adding Resistance and HP for your support champions while you push into higher tiers. The shop is for shards during guaranteed-champion events and Tomes for the epics you actually field — a properly built Madame Serris or Genbo the Dishonored changes more fights than a couple of stat percent.

Late game

Core Hall branches are done and medals come in faster than the next upgrade costs. This is where the Arena Shop becomes your main sink: shards, Tomes and Energy for tournaments.

Summary

  • The Arena Shop is the secondary medal sink; the Great Hall comes first.
  • From the shop, take shards and Skill Tomes, less often Energy and Gems.
  • Silver, minor consumables and manual refreshes are almost always a pass.
  • Keep a medal reserve so you can grab a strong offer the moment it shows up.
