x2 and x10 summon events look almost identical in the event list, but they work very differently — and that confusion is exactly where most stockpiled shards get wasted. Here is a practical plan: how the two event types differ, when to save shards, how many you actually need for a realistic chance, and what to prepare before the event starts.
x2 vs x10: the core difference
x2 doubles the base chance of pulling an Epic or Legendary champion from every shard. It works across the whole pool: you get more Legendaries, but which ones you get is pure luck.
x10 does not change the overall Legendary chance at all. It only shifts the odds inside a result you already rolled: if a Legendary drops, the chance that it is one of the ten featured champions is ten times higher. In other words, x10 is not more Legendaries — it is a different Legendary.
- x2 is about volume and overall account growth;
- x10 is about one specific champion for one specific job;
- the base Legendary chance on x10 stays exactly the same.
Practical rule: while your account still has gaps to fill, pull on x2. Save x10 for the moment you need a narrow tool — a Clan Boss specialist or a specific Arena pick.
Which shards to spend, and when
Ancient Shards are the working currency: most plentiful, and x2 events on them are frequent. Spending them outside an event is almost always a mistake; the exception is when a shard is needed to finish a tournament or event.
Void Shards are the scarcest, and x2 Void is generally considered the most valuable event: the Void Legendary pool is small and there is no real substitute for those champions. Save them patiently.
Sacred Shards are rare — Clan Boss chests, milestone rewards, high event placements. Keep them for x2 or for one specific x10 target.
Primal Shards follow their own rules and do not fit this scheme, while Mystery Shards are consumables for missions and quests — nobody builds a plan around them.
How to stockpile shards without spending
- Clan Boss chests — Ancients and Sacreds;
- Arena and weekly rewards;
- Campaign, dungeons and progression rewards;
- Clan shop, gem shop and silver shop;
- Doom Tower, Faction Wars, tournaments and events;
- missions and early-game quests.
Discipline beats luck: a shard gets opened only when an event moves the account forward. Everything else is just an itch — and that itch is the x2 you missed.
How many shards you actually need
Base rates are low, and that is the main reality check. Rough Legendary benchmarks (the exact numbers are always in the shard description in-game):
| Shard | Base chance | 10 shards on x2 |
|---|---|---|
| Ancient | about 0.5% | roughly 10% |
| Void | about 0.5% | roughly 10% |
| Sacred | about 6% | around 70% |
Read it like this: 10–15 Ancients on x2 usually means a batch of Epics and, with luck, one Legendary; around 50 Ancients gives roughly a 40% chance of at least one Legendary. Sacreds on x2 are the fastest route to a Legendary and the most expensive one.
Do not forget the mercy counter: after a run of Legendary-free pulls the chance climbs, and at some threshold a Legendary is guaranteed. x2 and x10 do not reset that counter, so before a big event it is worth remembering how many shards you already burned for nothing.
What to prepare before the event
- Storage space. Free slots in advance so you are not sorting champions in a rush.
- Silver and food. A new champion is useless without levels: keep silver, XP and fodder in reserve.
- Books. Decide in advance who gets skill upgrades — spreading books across everyone is expensive.
- Duplicates. Do not feed duplicate Epics and Legendaries right away: they belong in Faction Guardians.
- A goal. One or two priorities: Clan Boss, Arena or dungeons. Kael, Athel, Elhain and Galek carry the early game, but late content wants different champions.
Timing and common mistakes
- Do not pull in the final minutes: the client can lag and the event can end.
- Do not dump everything in the first hour if a summon tournament or event is running — check where the points go first.
- Do not chase x10 if you cannot name the champion you want and the reason.
- Do not spend Sacreds on an x10 pool that does not fit your account.
- Do not build every new pull at once — resources run out before enthusiasm does.
Summary
x2 is about account growth, x10 is about a single target. Stockpile for the event that solves your current problem, be realistic about the odds (10 Ancients is a hope, not a Legendary), keep silver, fodder and storage space ready, and never open shards outside an event. That way every x2 is a real step forward instead of a pile of Epics and nothing to show for it.
