Stage 20 is where dungeons stop forgiving sloppy builds: waves hit harder, control lands more often, and the boss wants a plan rather than raw damage. Below is a practical framework for teams that farm stage 20+ on auto at a high win rate, not just once in a lucky run.
Why stage 20+ plays differently
Up to stage 19, one strong damage dealer and a couple of Speed sets usually carry the run. From stage 20 that falls apart: waves have noticeably more HP and Resistance, they throw stuns, freezes and provokes more often, and the boss has a mechanic you cannot ignore. Auto mode here measures build quality, not account power.
There is also a practical reason not to drop back down: stage 20+ is where top-star gear starts dropping, so every clean run feeds your whole progression. The goal is 95–100% wins without touching the screen.
The five roles of a stable team
A reliable stage 20+ lineup is built from the same functions almost every time. Legendaries are optional — what matters is covering every role instead of stacking five shiny cards.
- Cleanse and protection: Cardiel, Siphi the Lost Bride, Mithrala Lifebane, Mausoleum Mage, Uugo. They strip debuffs, place Block Debuffs, heal and extend buffs.
- Decrease DEF: Stag Knight, Dhukk the Pierced, Deacon Armstrong. Without it, boss damage drops off a cliff.
- Boss damage: Coldheart, Royal Guard, Acrizia, Gnut. Enemy MAX HP damage beats flat damage on stage 20+.
- Turn meter control: Husk, Coldheart, Deacon Armstrong. Keeping the boss from taking turns removes his mechanic entirely.
- Insurance: Godseeker Aniri, Ursala the Mourner, Siphi the Lost Bride. Revive and buff extension rescue a run that is already collapsing.
A working baseline is two supports, one debuffer and two damage dealers (or one damage dealer plus turn meter control). For Spider, an HP Burn core helps a lot: Geomancer, Ninja, Fahrakin the Fat.
The numbers auto runs on
| Stat | Target for stage 20+ |
|---|---|
| Speed | 170–200, supports 200–240 |
| Accuracy | 200–250 on every debuffer |
| HP | 30–40k on damage dealers, 45k+ on supports |
| DEF | 2500–3000 |
| Crit Rate | 100% on damage dealers |
| Crit Damage | 150–200%+ |
| Resistance | 150+ on key heroes if waves land control |
Treat these as ranges, not laws. A team with 250 Accuracy and 25k HP on its damage dealers dies on the waves faster than a team with 210 Accuracy and proper survivability. On masteries: boss damage dealers usually want the single-target damage masteries from the Attack tree (Warmaster / Giant Slayer), while supports take the Support tree for survival.
AI presets and turn order
- Turn on AI presets and set priorities manually: Decrease DEF and cleanse first, damage second. This alone is half your consistency.
- Disable skills that break the loop: extra AoE on waves, empty buffs, heals at full HP.
- Turn order should be support → debuffer → damage dealer. If your nuker goes first, debuffs land after the damage and do nothing.
- Damage dealers need 100% Crit Rate. 90% looks fine on paper, but on auto those misses turn into losses.
- Test with 5–10 runs, not one. That is how you find the exact wave or boss phase where the team breaks.
Dungeon mechanics that break auto runs
- Dragon: stack HP Burn and poisons (Dark Kael, Urogrim), bring a cleanse or Block Debuffs against the boss poisons, and keep single-target damage for the boss.
- Ice Golem: killing minions at the wrong moment triggers the AoE retaliation; Block Debuffs and damage reduction (Venomage, Vogoth) keep the run standing.
- Fire Knight: the shield counts hits, so multi-hitters and Decrease Speed matter more than burst. Coldheart and Fahrakin the Fat cover both.
- Spider: turn meter control plus HP Burn is the standard answer. If the boss still gets turns, you need a tanky target with HP and Resistance, plus a revive as insurance.
Common mistakes
- Chasing damage at the cost of survivability: an Attack set will not save you on the waves.
- A debuffer without Accuracy — Decrease DEF simply does not land, and the whole plan collapses.
- Damage dealers that are too fast and supports that are too slow: the team loses its rhythm and buffs arrive late.
- A single revive with no backup: if that hero dies first, there is no plan B.
- Judging a team by one run: three wins in a row is not the same as consistency.
Summary
Auto on stage 20+ is about roles, numbers and settings, not about owning legendaries. Cover cleanse, Decrease DEF, enemy MAX HP damage, turn meter control and a revive, push 200–250 Accuracy and 100% Crit Rate on your damage dealers, set up AI presets and turn order — and the dungeon starts clearing itself. After that you only need to add stats for stages 24–25.
