Argonites in Faction Wars are a faction where stars come from a clean role setup rather than a pile of legendaries. Below are the champions ranked by Faction Wars rating, budget teams for accounts without the top picks, and the gear and mastery setup that carries the late crypt stages.
How the Argonite crypt works
The crypt has 21 stages, each worth up to three stars, and only champions of that faction can enter. Attempts are limited and refill over time, so burning them on random full-power runs is a waste. Stars feed the mode's reward track — shards, skill books and gems come from there — so even a partial clear pays off.
The catch: full stars require a clean clear with nobody dying. Lose one champion and you replay the stage even if you won. On the late stages, survivability and control beat raw damage.
Don't ignore Faction Guardians: duplicate champions give passive bonuses and take a lot of pressure off the tough stages.
Team skeleton: five slots
- One or two damage dealers. You need AoE damage, otherwise waves simply don't die in time.
- Support. Heal or shield plus an ATK/DEF buff is the baseline of any crypt team.
- Safety net. A reviver or someone who stops the run from collapsing after the first mistake.
- Debuffer. Decrease ATK, provoke, stun or freeze — that is what actually holds the waves.
- Utility. Cleansing debuffs and stripping enemy buffs: from stage 15 you get poisons, burns and heal reduction thrown at you.
Perfect setups have one champion covering two roles — that is exactly where the top-rated legendaries shine.
Top tier: 5.0
Four champions share the maximum: Tekteon Fissureflesh, Glorious Pallas, Aria the Golden Hope and Phemo the Shepherd. Any one of them is a skeleton to build around, and two or three in one team close the crypt almost on their own. If you only have one, make it the core and fill the rest with support and a debuffer.
Solid middle: 4.0–4.5
These champions need support to be consistent: Storm Herald Hekaton, Theimios the Everdrinker, Pelops the Victor, Keberon the Underflame and Knosson the Bronze Bull (4.5), plus Stonebound Thisbe, Kassandra, Tidemaster Dexikos, Lionsguard Galatea and Pelagus the Wavewalker (4.0). Two of them plus one legendary is already a working stage-21 combination.

Budget roster
No legendaries at all? Start from the rares: Acolyte Of The Slither, Bladerider, Sunken Sentinel, Horned Viper and Crimson Pegason handle the early stages and feed stars into the reward track. Next, look at the mid-tier epics: Deephook Nagis, Xanthe Seaflower and Antigone Man-slayer bridge the gap between fully budget and actually serious.
Gear, masteries and tactics
- Speed. Support and debuffer around 200–250; 170+ is enough for your damage dealer.
- Accuracy. Debuffers want 200–250 from stage 15 onward, otherwise the control simply won't land.
- Damage. 100% crit rate and 200%+ crit damage; on early stages a Lifesteal set saves runs.
- Tank. DEF and HP% matter more than Resistance if you have debuff cleansing.
- Masteries. Support: support and defence trees; damage: offence; debuffer: accuracy plus support.
Tactics are simple: don't spend control on the first wave, keep decrease ATK on the beefiest enemies, and don't waste your reviver on a champion who will drop again next turn.
Summary
Argonites are a faction where a champion's rating matters less than how the roles fit together. One damage dealer, one support, a debuffer and a safety net — that is enough to reach the late stages even without top legendaries. Start budget, farm stars in the crypt, and only then invest gear into the final stages.
