Faction Wars is the one mode where a single overpowered champion will not carry you: you need five champions from the same faction, and they have to survive as a group. The Undead Hordes are among the luckier factions here — plenty of elite supports and hard-hitting damage dealers. Below is a look at the best Undead champions by FW rating, the roles you actually need to fill, and practical gear and mastery advice.
How Faction Wars works and why the Undead are comfortable
The format is simple: five slots, champions only from your own faction, waves of enemies, and a boss waiting on the final stages. The real difficulty is not damage but survival — champions who die do not come back between waves, so every loss hurts the whole run. Stars are awarded for clearing a stage and for keeping the team alive, and your total stars across all factions unlock the mode's rewards.
The Undead got a good spread: healers, debuff removal, crowd control and solid single-target damage. You can build a working team without owning every top champion — the key is not to fill the fifth slot with a random strong name instead of the role you are missing.
Best Undead Hordes champions by FW rating
An FW rating reflects value in this mode specifically, not in the Arena. These are the champions that most often carry Undead stages.
| Champion | Rarity | Role | Why you bring them |
|---|---|---|---|
| Siphi the Lost Bride | Legendary | Support | Healing, Block Debuffs and Turn Meter help — the glue of the team |
| Rotos the Lost Groom | Legendary | Damage | Durable single-target damage that finishes bosses and tanky waves |
| Nekhret the Great | Legendary | Tank / Support | Shields and Ally Protection, pulls enemy focus onto himself |
| Bad-el-Kazar | Legendary | Support | Cleanses debuffs, heals and stacks poisons on the boss |
| Ma’Shalled | Legendary | Hybrid | Healing, cleansing, Fear control plus respectable damage |
| Ultimate Deathknight | Legendary | Tank | Shields and Ally Protection, extremely hard to kill |
| Little Miss Annie | Legendary | Damage | Pure single-target damage for the boss |
| Vogoth | Epic | Healer | Passive healing for the team — a cheap stand-in for a legendary support |
| Mausoleum Mage | Epic | Support | Removes debuffs and places Block Debuffs |
| Seeker | Epic | Turn Meter | Turn Meter fill and Increase ATK for the whole team |
At the very top of the rating you will also see Lord Entertainer Fabian, Gaspard the Accused, The Calamitus, Blood Marchioness Mina, Theodosia the Disgraced, Vlad the Nightborn, Sanguine Maria, Skartorsis, The Scarecrow, Valkanen, Vallaryn the Equalizer, Morrigaine, Suzerain Katonn, Harvest Jack and Urost The Soulcage. If you own one, use them — but they are a bonus, not a requirement.
The core: which role each slot fills
The layout that works almost everywhere: one healer or cleanser, one shield tank, two damage dealers and one Turn Meter or control piece. For the Undead it looks like this:
- Healing and cleansing: Siphi the Lost Bride, Bad-el-Kazar, Mausoleum Mage, Vogoth.
- Protection: Nekhret the Great and Ultimate Deathknight — shields and Ally Protection keep squishy damage dealers alive.
- Damage: Rotos the Lost Groom, Little Miss Annie, Vlad the Nightborn.
- Tempo: Seeker and Siphi the Lost Bride — the earlier your team moves, the less it takes.
Where the faction is weak
The Undead have plenty of champions that hit hard and fold under the first real focus. The second issue is debuffs: poisons, Decrease DEF and Heal Reduction on later waves turn a run into a slog, so a cleanser is not a luxury here. Third, do not try to clear a stage with five damage dealers — without healing and shields, a control-heavy wave simply will not let you finish it.
Gear and masteries
- Supports: Speed plus HP% or DEF%, with the support side of the mastery tree for survival.
- Control and debuffers: Speed plus Accuracy so their effects actually land on the boss.
- Damage dealers: Speed, 100% Critical Rate, Attack and Critical Damage — otherwise boss damage just evaporates.
- Sets: Lifesteal or Regeneration on wave content takes a lot of pressure off your healer.
- Boss masteries: the bonus damage based on the target's MAX HP (Warmaster / Giant Slayer) is the cheapest way to add DPS.
How to progress without pain
- Invest in five champions up to max level first, not ten half-built ones.
- Take it stage by stage: stars accumulate across all factions and rewards unlock gradually.
- Swap one champion per attempt — that is how you see what actually broke.
- If the same slot keeps dying, the problem is defence and speed, not damage.
Summary
The Undead Hordes are one of the friendliest factions in Faction Wars: Siphi the Lost Bride and Bad-el-Kazar solve survival, Nekhret the Great covers your damage dealers, and Rotos the Lost Groom with Little Miss Annie finish the boss. Build the core of healer, tank and two damage dealers, fix Speed and Accuracy in your gear, and the stages will fall without losses.
