Orc Faction Wars is one of the friendliest crypts in the game: the faction has enough Epics and Legendaries to fill almost any role. The trap is the opposite of what you'd expect — a rich roster tempts you into a flashy team that falls apart halfway through the crypt. Here is the practical breakdown: who to build, how to split the roles and what to fix first.
How the Orc crypt works
The Orc crypt has 21 stages, with a boss waiting on the final one. The rules are standard for Faction Wars: Orc champions only, and no duplicates — you cannot field the same champion twice in one run. Stars feed a shared reward track, so the “just clear it, don't chase three stars” approach is perfectly valid.
- Stages 1–14 — an AoE check: if the waves don't die in a couple of turns, accumulated damage finishes you off.
- Stages 15–20 — an Accuracy and survivability check: enemies resist debuffs more often and hit considerably harder.
- Stage 21 — the boss: single-target damage, Poison/HP Burn and Decrease DEF matter far more than pretty AoE.
Send spare duplicates to Faction Guardians — those are free stat bonuses for the whole faction.
Roles you can't skip
Five slots must cover four jobs, or the run stalls.
- Wave clear — AoE damage that kills the trash before it acts.
- Debuffer — Decrease DEF and Decrease ATK: without the first, waves take forever; without the second, you get flattened.
- Support — Heal, Shield, Increase ATK or DEF buffs. One living support beats two extra damage dealers.
- Control/utility — Stun, Freeze, Decrease SPD, buff stripping.
- Boss killer — Poison, HP Burn and single-target damage with solid Accuracy.
Best Orc champions for Faction Wars
| Champion | Rarity | Role | Why bring them |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warlord | Legendary | Support/control | Shields and buff manipulation — the backbone of survival |
| Zargala | Epic | AoE debuffer | Mass Decrease DEF, speeds up every wave |
| Dhukk the Pierced | Epic | Debuffer/bruiser | Decrease ATK and DEF, takes a hit well |
| Robar | Legendary | Nuker | Heavy AoE damage on waves |
| Iron Brago | Legendary | Tank/damage | DEF-based: both survives and hits |
| Kreela Witch-Arm | Legendary | Buffer | Increase ATK and C.RATE, speeds up focused kills |
| Galek | Epic | Nuker (starter) | If you picked him, he's ready-made damage for early stages |
The Zargala + Dhukk pair is the cheapest way to clear waves: two Epics you can realistically book without touching Legendaries. Warlord and Kreela are a comfort upgrade — one keeps the team alive, the other accelerates damage. Robar and Iron Brago cover damage when Epics aren't enough. Any Mythic of the faction usually covers two roles at once — build around them first.
Three teams for different rosters
- Budget (Epics): Galek, Zargala, Dhukk the Pierced, Tagoar or another Epic support, plus control. Target: a stable stages 15–17 clear.
- Mid: Warlord, Zargala, Dhukk, Kreela Witch-Arm, one nuker. Enough to reach stage 20.
- Endgame: Warlord, Robar, Iron Brago, Kreela Witch-Arm, Zargala. Here it's not about clearing 21 but about doing it fast and reliably in three stars.
Accuracy, gear and masteries
- Accuracy: debuffers want roughly 200–250 for the late stages — otherwise Decrease DEF simply never lands.
- Speed: 170–200 on support, faster than your damage dealers so debuffs land before the hits.
- Sets: Perception/Speed on debuffers, Lifesteal or Immortal on the tank and support, standard damage sets (Savage, Cruel) on nukers.
- Masteries: Warmaster or Giant Slayer for the boss; supports go down the support/survival tree.
- Books: invest in one key debuffer and one support instead of spreading them thin.
Common mistakes
- Four damage dealers and no healing — waves look great, the boss folds you.
- 50 Accuracy and surprise at resists: that's exactly why your Decrease DEF “doesn't work”.
- Levelling every Legendary at once instead of five reliable champions.
- Running stage 21 with the same build as the waves: the boss wants Poison/HP Burn and single-target damage.
Summary
Orcs don't require chasing Mythics: Zargala + Dhukk + Warlord covers most of the crypt, while Kreela, Robar and Iron Brago push it to three stars on stage 21. The plan is simple — build a five with one support and one debuffer, get Accuracy to working values, and only then pour books and gear into Legendaries. This crypt is beaten by consistency, not by roster size.
