Faction Wars: Lizardmen — Best Heroes and Tips

Lizardmen Faction Wars is not a test of one broken champion — it is a test of the whole package: survivability, debuffs and steady healing. Below is the practical breakdown: who clears the stages, which epics are worth building, how to gear the team and why runs collapse on stages 14 and 21.

How the Lizardmen Crypt works

The Faction Crypt is 21 stages fought with champions of that faction only, in a team of up to five. Three of them are boss stages (7, 14 and 21), and those are usually the wall.

  • Stars and Ascension. Each stage gives up to three stars, but part of the star cap unlocks as you ascend your Lizardmen. In other words, good gear alone will not finish the star count — you have to invest in Ascension.
  • Rising demands. Up to stage 10–12, any decently built champions will do. After that the game checks Accuracy (debuffs must land), Speed (shields, cleanses and heals must come before the hit) and raw survivability.
  • Rewards. Artifacts, glyphs and resources — the Crypt is also a way to fill specific gear slots.

Top legendaries worth building

The legendary pool here is genuinely strong, which is why the faction is often cleared with room to spare. Roles at a glance:

ChampionRoleWhy they matter
Pheidi TealcrestDamage / utilityOne of the strongest champions in the faction, covering both damage and overall usefulness.
PythionSupportCleanse, healing and defensive buffs — the core of survival on the high stages.
Krisk the AgelessTank / supportShields, Ally Protection and DEF/SPD buffs. He clears stages that otherwise feel impossible.
SulfuryionDamageYour main damage source when thick bosses refuse to die.
Hierophant LazariusMythical hybridTwo forms, so you can build him for damage or for support.
Ramantu DrakesbloodControlDeals with enemy buffs — strong against bosses that buff themselves.
Skull Lord Var-GallBruiserStays alive and keeps pressure while your damage dealers stack debuffs.
DracomorphDebuffer / poisonPoison, Decrease DEF and Weaken — massively speeds up boss kills.

The takeaway: do not try to slot everyone in at once. Two or three legendaries plus solid epics is enough for stage 21 — what matters is that the roles complement each other instead of overlapping.

Epics and budget options

Lizardmen epics are not filler — they carry most mid-game clears.

  • Aox the Rememberer — a debuffer with a useful spread of debuffs and support; covers stages where control is missing.
  • Jareg — Increase DEF, Ally Protection and healing: the classic anchor for boss stages.
  • Venomage — poisons and debuffs, speeding up kills on high-HP targets.

Rares can handle the first 10–12 stages, but from stage 14 you almost always hit a wall: not enough Accuracy, not enough healing, or no cleanse. Investing in epics pays off in both the Crypt and boss content.

Team skeleton: roles, not names

  1. Tank/support with Ally Protection and Increase DEF — eats the boss hit so your damage dealers survive.
  2. Cleanse and healing — strips debuffs after AoE hits and restores HP.
  3. One or two damage dealers — poison/HP burn or direct damage, depending on your roster.
  4. Debuffer — Decrease ATK, Decrease DEF, Block Buffs.
  5. Fifth slot — situational: a second support if survival is short, or extra control if damage is short.

If the team falls apart on stage 14, the problem is usually not damage — it is the lack of a cleanse and defensive buffs.

Gear, masteries and Accuracy

  • Supports — Speed or Regeneration sets, HP%/DEF% gloves, Speed boots.
  • Damage dealers — damage plus Accuracy: without Accuracy the debuffs simply do not land.
  • Accuracy targets. Rough guide: around 150–200 for stage 14 and noticeably higher (roughly 250+) for stage 21, depending on the champion's kit.
  • Speed order. Supports and cleansers must act before the boss, otherwise shields and heals arrive too late.
  • Masteries. Warmaster or Giant Slayer on damage dealers; defensive tree plus Accuracy for supports.

Bosses on 7, 14 and 21: what breaks runs

  • Stage 7 — a check on basic builds and whether you brought healing at all.
  • Stage 14 — a check on Accuracy and cleansing: debuffs must land, heals must keep up.
  • Stage 21 — a check on everything at once, plus your ability to strip or block the boss's buffs.

When damage is short, add poisons and Accuracy rather than Speed — a fast but empty team does nothing on the upper stages. And watch the timing: Increase DEF and the cleanse have to land before the boss swings.

Summary

Lizardmen are cleared by structure, not by one superstar: a tank with Ally Protection, a cleanser with healing, one or two debuff-based damage dealers and a debuffer on top. Ascend champions for stars, fix Accuracy and Speed, and the Crypt opens up even without a full legendary roster.
