Faction Wars: the order to clear the Crypts

Faction Wars is 14 Crypts of 21 stages each, and the one mode in RAID where a single broken champion doesn't carry you — roster depth does. Order matters more here than anywhere else: finish two or three Crypts, bank the rewards, then pour them into the next ones. Here's a working plan for a 2026 account.

Why bother with an order if you need them all anyway

Crypt stars are awarded for surviving champions: to get three, your whole team has to reach the end without losses. So "cleared it with two stars" isn't "almost done" — the star reward doesn't drop, and the end of the whole chain is Lydia The Deathsiren.

The logic is simple: put resources into factions where you already have three or four built champions, collect those rewards, and only then touch factions with an empty pool. Spreading gear and Masteries across all 14 Crypts at once is the classic way to get stuck on stage 14 everywhere.

Three signs a faction is "easy"

  1. A reviver. Without a raise, stage 21 barely closes: one bad boss volley and the star is gone.
  2. Healing plus control. You need someone holding the HP bar (Rector Drath, Pythion, Uugo) and someone removing the threat: stun, freeze, provoke, decrease ATK.
  3. A ready pool. If a faction already has three or four level 60 champions with Masteries, it's a first-wave candidate even if the community calls it hard.

Wave 1 — start here

  • Dark Elves. Kael and Fenax cover damage, then you slot in support. Historically one of the most accessible factions.
  • High Elves. Pythion is a universal heal-revive, Seer and Demytha add control and buffs, Athel and Elhain bring damage.
  • Barbarians. Fahrakin the Fat provides buffs and extra hits, and the faction builds well from accessible epics.
  • Orcs. Uugo is heal, revive and decrease DEF in one slot, Galek adds the damage.
  • Demonspawn. A deep pool of strong champions you usually build for Arena and dungeons anyway.

Practical tip: close two Crypts from this list at 21/21 — that's your first serious reward batch and a clear picture of which roles your other factions are missing.

Wave 2 — the middle

  • Ogryn Tribes. Maneater, Vogoth and Toragi The Frog are a solid core, but they need real survival gear.
  • Undead Hordes. With Siphi the Lost Bride the Crypt is a stroll; without her it's work.
  • Dwarves. Underpriest Brogni handles shields and healing, but the other four slots need proper building.
  • Sacred Order. Doompriest cleanses debuffs and heals, yet the faction lacks mass control.
  • Lizardmen and Shadowkin. Good champion pools, but a reviver is often exactly what's missing — keep that in mind when choosing who to level.

Wave 3 — leave these for last

  • Banner Lords. Deacon Armstrong, Stag Knight and Ursala the Mourner bring buffs, debuffs and a revive, but the shallow support pool makes stage 21 tense.
  • Knight Revenant. Rector Drath and Miscreated Monster are an almost mandatory pair; without them the Crypt stalls.
  • Skinwalkers. The fussiest faction: with Mithrala Lifebane it's tolerable, without her it wants your best gear.

These three make sense as a finale — by then you have spare glyphs, books and a feel for which stats a given boss punishes.

How to build champions for a Crypt

  • Level 60 and full Masteries — not "later". Without Speed and Accuracy masteries your control simply doesn't land.
  • Speed boots as a baseline. Supports take HP% or DEF% on gloves and chest, not ATK.
  • Accuracy around 200–250 for control on the higher stages; anything lower just gets resisted.
  • A leader aura for the job: Speed for aggressive setups, HP or DEF for long boss fights.
  • Ascension and glyphs — the cheapest way to add the 10–15% of stats you're short on.

Common mistakes

  • Building one favourite per faction instead of a full five.
  • Walking into stage 21 without a reviver and being surprised by two stars.
  • Levelling all 14 factions in parallel — resources vanish into nothing.
  • Dragging PvP builds into Crypts: survival and Accuracy win here, not raw damage.

Summary

Keep it simple: start with factions where you already own a five with healing and a revive (Dark Elves, High Elves, Barbarians, Orcs, Demonspawn), then the middle (Ogryn Tribes, Undead Hordes, Dwarves, Sacred Order, Lizardmen, Shadowkin), and finish with Banner Lords, Knight Revenant and Skinwalkers. Don't chase the number of cleared Crypts: one Crypt at 21/21 pays more than seven at two stars. And keep the real goal in sight — Lydia The Deathsiren only goes to players who push all 14 Crypts to three stars.
