Ox — guide
Guide: Ox
In short
Ox is a Rare Attack champion from the Barbarians with Void affinity. He has exactly one job: Faction Crypts, where his aura gives allies +18% ATK and he lands Decrease DEF and Block Active Skills. Don't invest seriously — if you do build him, Speed and Accuracy come first, otherwise his debuffs never land.
Strengths
- Block Active Skills for 2 turns on his A3 — a nasty, rare debuff for a Rare, and the hit itself comes with +15% Critical Rate.
- Decrease DEF 30% for 2 turns from his A2 — helps crack Crypt bosses and early Clan Boss.
- His A1 fills 10% of his Turn Meter on a crit, so his skill cycle comes around a bit faster.
- +18% Ally ATK aura in Faction Crypts — at least some value for the team.
- Void affinity — no weak matchups against other affinities.
Weaknesses
- Poor base stats: 1 167 ATK with 12 225 HP — neither a damage dealer nor a tank.
- Every skill is single-target with low multipliers, so his damage is close to nonexistent.
- His debuffs need Accuracy and books, while skill levels add almost nothing but damage.
- Rated 1.0 in Hydra, dungeons and Hard mode — those are not his fights.
Where to use
His best and basically only home is Faction Crypts (2.0): bring him for the aura and the boss debuffs if your Barbarian roster is thin. In Clan Boss, Chimera and Arena (2.0) he is a very early-game filler only. Dungeons, Hard mode (1.0) and Hydra (1.0) — skip him there entirely.
Stats and gear
Priority: Speed (170–200+, so he actually gets turns) → Accuracy (200–250 for Crypts and Clan Boss) → Critical Rate toward 70–100% (for his A1 and consistent damage) → Critical Damage and ATK. Put leftover HP and DEF on him so he survives the first AoE.
- Speed and Perception — the core for turn cycle and Accuracy.
- Accuracy — if his debuffs keep getting resisted.
- Offense — for damage once Accuracy is covered.
- Lifesteal — only for solo early Clan Boss builds.
- Divine Critical / Divine Speed — if you have access to Divine sets.
Masteries and blessings
Go down the Offense tree with Pierce Defenses as the key pick — without defense penetration his already tiny damage is invisible. Fill the rest in Support for Accuracy and Speed so the debuffs connect.
- Blessing: Phantom Touch — the only way to add a bit of damage.
- Relic: Malefic Talon.
Tombs
If you insist on investing, book the A3 first: the debuff chance climbs from 50% and the cooldown drops at the last level — that is the whole point of the champion. Then the A2 (Decrease DEF chance 60% → 75%). Booking the A1 is pointless, it only adds damage. Honestly, save your books for Epics and Legendaries.
Verdict
Fodder. Keep him only for Faction Crypts aura duty until a real Barbarian shows up — do not spend gear, masteries or books on him.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
