Fellhound — guide
Guide: Fellhound
In short
Fellhound is a Rare Defense champion of the Demons faction with Void affinity. He is a pure support: Block Damage on one ally, team-wide Regeneration plus Reflect Damage, and an AoE with a Decrease SPD chance. Build him for DEF and SPD — and level him first of all as a campaign food farmer.
Strengths
- Block Damage for 1 turn is a real save on a bad wave or a risky boss rotation.
- 7.5% Regen and 15% Reflect Damage on the whole team for 2 turns, and books cut its cooldown.
- An AoE hit with a 25% chance to place 15% Decrease SPD for 2 turns.
- Aura: +19% Ally DEF in Faction Crypts — a genuine boost for that mode.
- His damage scales with DEF and ATK, so a tanky build does not make him useless offensively.
Weaknesses
- 92 base SPD is slow; without Speed gear his turns are rare.
- Decrease SPD is only a 25% chance at 15% value — unreliable as a debuff.
- Rated 2/5 in Clan Boss, Hydra, Chimera, Arena, Hard mode and Doom Tower: he is not a boss or PvP pick.
- Low base stats for his role: 14 865 HP and 1 079 DEF.
Where to use
His best home is dungeons (3/5), Fire Knight's Castle above all — Block Damage and Regen carry you through the shield phases and waves. Faction Crypts (3/5) is his second spot, helped by his DEF aura. Beyond that, his main practical job is farming campaign food. In Clan Boss, Hydra, Chimera, Arena, Hard mode and Doom Tower (2/5 each) there is no slot for him.
Stats and gear
Priority: DEF → SPD → HP → ACC. Rough targets: DEF 2500+, HP 35 000+, SPD 170–200, ACC 100–150 so the Decrease SPD occasionally lands. Ignore crit stats. Sets: Speed, Defense, Provoke. Relic: Malefic Talon.
Masteries and blessings
Go into the Offense tree for Pierce Defenses — it is the listed pick and gives him real damage into armoured targets. Fill the rest from Defense and Support for survivability and buff uptime. Blessings are low priority on a Rare support: take a defensive or utility one only if you have spare resources, and don't invest seriously.
Tombs
Book the Regen + Reflect Damage skill first: it gets -1 cooldown at ranks 2 and 3, so those buffs stay up almost permanently. Then the Block Damage skill (-1 cooldown). Leave the AoE for last — books there only add damage and debuff chance.
Verdict
A cheap early support and food farmer that is handy to have around. He does not grow into late content — build him only if you need exactly this package.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
