Vergis — guide
Guide: Vergis
In short
Vergis is an epic Defense champion from the High Elves who places Ally Protection, Continuous Heal, Reflect Damage, and Increase SPD on a target ally, while redirecting half the damage to himself. He excels against the Scarab King and in Faction Wars. Worth building and booking.
Strengths
- Powerful single-target protection: 50% Ally Protection, 15% Continuous Heal, 15% Increase SPD, and 30% Reflect Damage.
- Passive self-heal when below 50% HP — with books, cooldown drops to 2 turns.
- Aura increases Ally DEF in Dungeons by 33%.
- Damage scales with DEF, allowing a full tank build.
- Great against debuff-heavy bosses thanks to masteries like Unflinching and the Iron Will blessing.
Weaknesses
- Low base SPD (98) — needs significant Speed from gear.
- Almost useless in Arena (rating 2.5).
- Effectiveness drops in Hard dungeons (rating 2.0).
- No debuffs, so ACC is wasted, but also offers no crowd control.
Where to use
Best in Faction Wars (4.0) and Clan Boss (4.0) as a protective tank. In Doom Tower (3.5) he is a key counter to Borgoth the Scarab King and Agreth the Black Widow. Viable in normal dungeons (3.0), but avoid Hard modes (2.0). Not recommended for Arena (2.5).
Stats and gear
Stat priority: DEF%, HP%, SPD, RES. ACC not needed. Rough targets: DEF 3500+, HP 40,000+, SPD 170–200+, RES 200+ for Doom Tower. Recommended sets: Defense, Lifesteal, Immortal, Destroy (against Scarab), Defiant.
Masteries and blessings
Mastery trees: Defense and Support. Key masteries: Invigorated (heal when receiving healing), Survival Speed (SPD per dead ally), Strengthening Will (DEF per debuff on self), Unflinching (damage reduction from first hit each round). Blessings: Cruelty (reduce enemy DEF) or Iron Will (RES and DEF under debuffs).
Tomes
Booking is highly recommended. Prioritize Aegis (A2) to reduce cooldown and apply protection more often. Next, book Second Wind (A3) for more frequent self-healing. Piercing Strike (A1) can be booked last.
Verdict
An average epic with a specific but valuable niche. If you need a reliable tank-protector for the Scarab King or Faction Wars, Vergis is an excellent choice and fully deserves your resources.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
Skills

Piercing
Attacks an enemy. Has a 40% chance of placing a 30% Reflect Damage buff on a random ally for 2 turns.
Damage based on [DEF]

Aegis
Places a Continuous Heal 15%, a Increase SPD 15% buff, and a Reflect Damage 30% buff on an ally for 3 turns. Also places an Ally Protection 50% buff on the ally for 3 turns. Takes 50% of the damage dealt to the selected ally.

Second Wind (Passive)
Each time the champion's HP drops below 50%, places Continuous Heal 15% on themselves for 2 turns.
