Ragemonger — guide
Guide: Ragemonger
In short
Ragemonger is a Rare Attack champion of the Barbarians with Void affinity. His kit is debuff-oriented: Poison on the whole wave via his second skill and HP Burn on a single target, plus self-Regeneration on crits. Building him seriously only makes sense for Campaign and the very early game — overall he is food.
Strengths
- Toxic Blizzard hits all enemies twice with a 50% chance per hit to place 2.5% Poison for 2 turns — a decent AoE debuff early on.
- Searing Shot places HP Burn (40%, higher once the skill is booked) — damage scales off the target's HP, not its Defence.
- His A1 grants himself 7.5% Regeneration for 1 turn on a crit, so he partially covers his own survivability without a healer.
- His aura gives allies +21% Attack in Campaign, which genuinely helps while leveling and farming.
Weaknesses
- Weak base stats: 1,211 Attack, 969 Defence and 12,720 HP — he folds fast and still does not deal damage like a real nuker.
- 98 Speed and no Accuracy in his base stats — without ACC gear the Poison and HP Burn simply do not land.
- Debuff chances of 40–50% are unreliable, and in Dungeons, Hydra and Hard content he does not perform at all (1.0–1.5 in the ratings).
Where to use
Best use is Campaign: the Attack aura plus AoE Poison work fine for leveling and farming. Next come early Dungeons and Arena at 2.0 — as a filler debuffer until you pull real champions. In Faction Wars (1.5) he can slot in third or fourth for the Poison. Against the Clan Boss (2.0) he is tolerable only at the very beginning, while Hydra, Hard content and Doom Tower (1.0) are a pass.
Stats and gear
Priority: Speed → Accuracy → Attack/crit. Rough starting targets: SPD 150–170, ACC 150+ (so Poison and HP Burn actually land), then ATK% and, if you play around his A1, 70–100% Crit Rate. Recommended sets: Attack, Lifesteal for survivability and Speed to cycle Toxic Blizzard faster. Fill Accuracy from accessories rather than a set.
Masteries and blessings
Take the Attack tree as the base — Pierce Defenses and Pouncing Strike from the recommended list. Then round it out with Support or Accuracy if you use him purely as a debuffer. Blessings are not part of the listed build and are not a priority — take whatever you have, leaning survivability or attack; spending on them for a Rare is pointless.
Tombs
Do not put Tomes into him — he is food. If you keep him: Searing Shot to level 6 first for the -1 cooldown, then Toxic Blizzard for the extra debuff chance (+5%/+10%).
Verdict
Food. An early Campaign champion who does not survive past the first dungeon — level him while you have no replacement and do not waste Tomes or good gear on him.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
