New Faction in RAID: Shadow Legends — the Sylvan Watchers

On 27 October 2022, RAID: Shadow Legends rolled out update 6.20 — a patch that touches several layers of the game at once: the faction roster, combat mechanics and future gear.

What's new

  • A new faction: the Sylvan Watchers, around 12 champions.
  • A new buff: Taunt.
  • The new Defiant artifact set has been announced.
  • Rebalances for six champions.

What it means for players

The Sylvan Watchers are a brand-new faction of around twelve champions, which means a full roster to collect more or less from scratch. For beginners it's another pool of heroes to draw from early on; for veterans it's a fresh collection goal and a reason to rethink teams wherever faction restrictions matter. Clan players and collectors get the most obvious long-term project here, and nothing you already own is taken away — your existing factions and sets keep working as before.

The new Taunt buff adds another control tool to fights: it pulls enemy attention onto a specific target, which should give tank-style builds and protection of fragile damage dealers more room to work. The Defiant artifact set is only announced so far, with no details yet, but it's worth keeping in mind when you plan your farming. The rebalance of six champions is a direct reminder to re-check old builds: someone left on the bench may be worth another look, especially in PvP and Live Arena. So before your next run at the Doom Tower or the arena, it pays to look over your team presets.
