On the nineteenth of April, 2022, RAID: Shadow Legends received update 5.40 — not a revolutionary patch, but a practical one for everyday play. It brought Coldheart skins, gear removal cost reduction events, an in-game Masteries guide, rebalances for two Legendary champions and the announcement of the Forge Pass.
What's new
- Coldheart skins — an alternative look for a very popular champion.
- Gear removal cost reduction events: during these events it costs less to take relics off your champions.
- An in-game Masteries guide, so players can read the basics inside the client instead of third-party sites.
- Rebalances for Ithos and Shirimani.
- Forge Pass announced — a new content format, with details promised later.
What it means for players
The Masteries guide is the biggest quality-of-life win for beginners. New players used to guess where to spend their points or hunt for advice outside the game; now the basic logic is explained in the client itself. Combined with cheaper gear removal, it makes experimenting with relics and sets far less painful — you can try a build without feeling like you are burning silver for nothing.
For veterans, the champion rebalances are the interesting part. Ithos and Shirimani may find new places in teams, and PvP and Live Arena players will notice it first. The Forge Pass is the wildcard: it promises another progression system, and how generous it turns out to be will only be clear once it fully launches.
