Patch 8.40: Impulse and Zeal Set Reworks

On 4 April 2024, RAID: Shadow Legends received patch 8.40 — an update that touched several layers of the game at once: artifacts, the champion roster and the balance of two familiar heroes.

What's new

  • The Impulse and Zeal artifact sets have been reworked.
  • Six new champions have been added to the game.
  • Queen Eva and Minaya have been rebalanced.

What it means for players

The Impulse and Zeal rework is mainly a signal for anyone who has those artifacts sitting in the vault. If you never found a use for them before, this is a good moment to rebuild your setups and check how the updated sets fit your champions. Don't sell old pieces blindly — look at what actually changed first, then decide whether to keep them. For beginners it's a nudge to learn how set bonuses work; for veterans it's a reason to review gear on key heroes used in Live Arena and other PvP modes.

Six new champions mean more options for your roster: some will help you push through dungeons, others may strengthen your PvP or clan-oriented teams. The Queen Eva and Minaya rebalance matters most to players who already own them — test both in battle before you change their sets, relics or blessings. If a champion still does its job, there's no need to rebuild anything; just make sure the results still suit you.
