Grandmaster — guide
Guide: Grandmaster
In short
Grandmaster is a Rare Banner Lords champion with the HP role and Magic affinity. Every one of his skills scales off ATK, so he is neither a damage dealer nor a real tank — his value is the Provoke on his A3, the Attack Down on his A2 and a +17% HP aura for Magic allies. Build him for Speed and Accuracy, not for damage.
Strengths
- Decay — 50% chance (up to 65% with books) to place Provoke for 1 turn, pulling enemy focus off your key champions.
- Cold Steel — 25% Attack Down for 2 turns, which cuts incoming damage on waves and against the Clan Boss.
- Aura: +17% HP to Magic allies in all battles — free value in a Magic-heavy Faction Wars team.
- Heavy Blows — three hits on the A1, so more procs for your team's on-hit effects.
Weaknesses
- All damage scales from ATK while his role is HP and his bases are low: no damage, no real tanking.
- Provoke lasts one turn, is not guaranteed, and bosses ignore it entirely.
- Brings nothing to the team beyond the aura — no shields, no heals, no buffs.
- 1 057 DEF next to 16 185 HP is thin for a front-line body.
Where to use
His best (still weak) scores are Faction Wars (2/5) and Clan Boss (2/5, and only early, purely for Attack Down). Arena, dungeons, Doom Tower, Hydra, Chimera and Hard mode sit at 1/5 — any real support does the job better.
Stats and gear
Priority: about 170–190 SPD, 150–180 ACC so his A2 and A3 debuffs actually land, then HP% and DEF%. Skip C.RATE and C.DMG — he will not deal damage either way. The build list gives no sets, only a mastery and a relic, so go with HP, Defense, Perception or Speed; the site author also recommends health and defense gear.
Masteries and blessings
The build specifies the Puppetmaster mastery and the Mask of Rage relic. Beyond that, take the usual support-tank route: Support tree for Accuracy and Defense tree for survivability, so Provoke and Attack Down stay up. No blessing is listed — on a Rare it is not a priority.
Tombs
Book Decay first: +15% chance to Provoke (up to 65%), then -1 cooldown — it is his only real tool. Then Cold Steel for the -1 cooldown so Attack Down is up more often. Leave the A1 alone.
Verdict
Into the Vault: keep him as fusion material, or as a last-resort Faction Wars filler if you have nobody else.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.

Grandmaster Raid Shadow Legends is a hero from the "Telerian League" faction "Banner Lords". His main role in the team is HP. This character is fairly average in his abilities, but performs excellently in battles against the Clan Boss. He is recommended gear for HP and Defense, to better unlock his abilities.
