Gurptuk Moss-Beard — guide
Guide: Gurptuk Moss-Beard
In short
Gurptuk Moss-Beard is a Legendary Support from Ogryn Tribes who brings a +50 Resistance aura to every battle. He shines in Hydra and Arena: he loads his own team with Poison, which his passive turns into up to +30% damage and +45 Resistance, while his A2 strips everything else, heals and shields. Worth building; Tomes are optional.
Strengths
- Passive: every Poison on an ally gives +7.5% damage (up to +30%) and +15 Resistance — the Poisons actually empower the whole team.
- A2 removes all debuffs except Poison, heals for 30% of max HP and places a 20% Shield for 2 turns — one button, three jobs.
- A3 puts Block Buffs on all enemies at an 80% chance — punishes buffer teams in Arena and Hydra.
- His Poisons cannot be resisted or blocked, so the combo never breaks.
- The +50 Resistance aura saves stats for the entire squad, especially in Hydra and Faction Wars.
Weaknesses
- The Poisons on your own team can't be cleansed, and enemies that exploit Poison will punish it.
- Heal and Shield are single-target only — no team-wide healing.
- A1 scales off ATK, which a support never builds, so his damage is close to zero.
- Low base Defense (1,244) — his survivability rests on HP alone.
Where to use
Best area is Hydra (4/5): his Poisons and Block Buffs do the most work there. Then Arena (3/5), Clan Boss (3/5 — the Poisons don't hurt but don't carry either), Dungeons and Hard mode (3/5), and Ogryn Faction Wars (3.5/5) where he is one of the strongest supports. Weak in Doom Tower (2.5/5) and especially Chimera (2/5), where his kit barely matters.
Stats and gear
Priority: HP% → SPD → RES → DEF%. Build Accuracy only if you want Block Buffs to land in Arena. Rough targets: HP 60–80k+, SPD 200–250, RES 300–400 (the aura does part of the job), ACC 200–250 if needed. Ignore C.RATE and C.DMG. Sets: Speed, Immortal, Resilience or Defense, Perception if you're chasing Accuracy. Relics: Journal of Necrotos, Hallowed Hilt, Perched Shadow.
Masteries and blessings
Go Support + Defense trees. Key picks: Blessed Heal, Invigorated, Heal 'N' Go to boost his healing and shielding, Bolstered Defense to keep him standing. For blessings, take defensive/survivability ones — he deals no damage, so offensive blessings are wasted.
Tomes
Tomes are optional. If you do invest, book A2 first: the level 6 cooldown reduction means more frequent heal, Shield and debuff removal. Then A3 — cooldown reduction plus pushing Block Buffs to a 100% chance, which is mostly an Arena upgrade.
Verdict
A solid legendary for Hydra and Arena with a unique "Poison your own team for more damage and Resistance" engine. Build him, but books are not a priority.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
