Cupidus — guide

In short

Cupidus is a Legendary Attack champion of the Sacred Order, Spirit affinity. He is built for debuff-soaked fights: an AoE that hits harder on debuffed enemies, a three-hit HP Burn spreader and a heavy single-target nuke behind his own ATK buff. Build priority is damage and Speed, tomes as the situation demands.

Strengths

• Heartbreaker hits all enemies and adds +15% damage if the target carries debuffs — great for clearing waves and Arena packs.
• Flame of Passion lands three hits on random targets, each with a 50% chance to place HP Burn for 2 turns: reliable damage-over-time pressure on Hydra and Spider.
• His third skill grants a 50% ATK buff for 2 turns and then hits for 6.6× ATK; if the target dies, a 50% chance spreads HP Burn to all enemies, and that debuff cannot be reflected.
• Passive deals 25% more damage to debuffed targets, and his aura gives allies +33% ATK in all battles.
• Strong ratings in Hydra (4.5) and Faction Wars (4.5) — that is where he carries.

Weaknesses

• Only 1,520 base ATK — damage has to come from gear, buffs and levels.
• 804 DEF and 18,825 HP make him squishy; Arena nukers delete him.
• The passive's +25% damage versus debuffs really wants Venus on the team — he is a paired champion.
• 107 SPD and 10 ACC mean you fill in everything with substats.

Where to use

Best homes are Hydra and Faction Wars (4.5/5), where his HP Burn and debuff-boosted damage pay off. Next come Arena — Classic and Tag Team (4/5), Spider's Den and Sorath, where HP Burn does the work. Clan Boss, dungeons and hard difficulties sit at a solid 4/5. He drops to 3.5/5 in Chimera and Doom Tower, where mechanics and his low survivability get in the way.

Stats and gear

• SPD: 170–200 (higher for Arena so he moves before enemy nukers).
• C.RATE 100%, C.DMG 200%+.
• ATK as high as you can push — it is his only scaling stat.
• ACC 150–200 if you want HP Burn to land reliably on Hydra and Spider.
• Sets: Savage and Fatal or Lethal for raw damage, Stoneskin if you run him in Arena and need to survive the first volley. Use substats for Speed, and Lifesteal-style healing only if you need the sustain.

Masteries and blessings

Go offense: key picks from the list are Pierce Defenses, Sharpened Riposte, Bloodthirsty Prowess and Boss Slayer, then round out with the usual damage nodes plus a little defence or accuracy for the content you farm. Blessings: Cruelty as the default damage pick, Soul reap if you want sustain from kills, Ward of the fallen for Arena survivability. Relics: Malefic Talon, Irethi Coronet, Stormcaller.

Tombs

Book the third skill to level 3 first — that is the −1 cooldown on his main nuke and the biggest single upgrade. Then invest in Flame of Passion: levels 4–6 add +5% and twice +10% debuff chance, meaning more HP Burn. Leave Heartbreaker damage for last. As the author says, tomes are situational.

Verdict

Build him. A top-tier legendary for Hydra and Faction Wars who gets even better with Venus beside him.
