Ironclad — guide
Guide: Ironclad
In short
Ironclad is a Rare Orc with the HP role and a +16% HP aura in all battles. He earns his place on Arena defense: he strips one random debuff from every ally, hands out 25% Increase ATK and can land Heal Reduction. The site author's verdict is blunt — vault (fusion) — so invest only if you need exactly what he does.
Strengths
- Aura: +16% HP for allies in all battles — a free stat boost for any team.
- Frenzy removes 1 random debuff from each ally and places 25% Increase ATK for 2 turns — a team-wide damage bump on Arena defense.
- Thunder Clap has a 25% chance to place 100% Heal Reduction for 2 turns, which punishes healing teams (chance grows with books).
- Passive Blood Boil: when he is fully healed, he attacks all enemies for damage equal to 50% of the leftover healing — with a strong healer that is real AoE damage.
Weaknesses
- End-game PvE ratings are low: Clan Boss 1.0, Chimera 0.5, Hard mode 1.0.
- Thunder Clap damage scales off ATK while his role is HP — his own damage is small, yet he still needs ACC.
- The passive lives and dies by your healer and overheal; alone it does nothing.
- No shields or self-sustain, so gear has to cover both survival and accuracy.
Where to use
Best spot is Arena defense (3.5) — debuff removal plus Increase ATK genuinely annoys attackers. Hydra (3.0) works only next to healers, feeding the passive and Heal Reduction. Dungeons, Doom Tower and Faction Wars (2.0) are early-game only. Clan Boss, Chimera and Hard mode (0.5–1.0) are a pass.
Stats and gear
Priority: HP → SPD → ACC. Rough targets at 6★: 60k+ HP, 170–200 SPD, 150–200 ACC so Heal Reduction actually lands in Arena. C.RATE and C.DMG are not a priority — the base 15%/50% is fine, damage is not his job.
Sets from the build: Lifesteal and Speed. Look for HP% / SPD / ACC pieces, with HP% on gloves and chest.
Masteries and blessings
- Masteries from the build: Survival Speed and Unflinching.
- The idea is simple: defence and staying alive, plus anything that speeds up the Frenzy cooldown.
- Relic: Golden Elixir. No blessing is listed in the build, so put your resources into the relic and gear first.
Tomes
Book Frenzy to level 2 first — the −1 cooldown means more debuff removal and more Increase ATK uptime. Then push Thunder Clap to level 5 for the extra +10% Heal Reduction chance. If you only want the aura, skip tomes entirely.
Verdict
A narrow defensive support for Arena and Hydra when paired with healers. Not a must-have — keep him in the vault or use him as fusion fodder unless you are building the Orc Faction Wars team.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
