Hatchet Slinger — guide
Guide: Hatchet Slinger
In short
Hatchet Slinger is a Rare Attack champion of the Dwarves with Spirit affinity. His ceiling is the Faction Crypt: a two-hit A1, a small chance to Stun a wounded target and a self-applied damage-immunity buff. Everywhere else he falls flat, so keep the build cheap: ATK, SPD and just enough ACC.
Strengths
- A1 hits twice, and while his HP is at 50% or above it has an 80% chance to ignore 15% of the target's DEF — free extra damage.
- Below 50% HP the same attack has a 10% chance to place a 1-turn Stun.
- A2 puts a 2-turn self-protection buff (Неуязвимость) on him, which occasionally saves him from focus fire.
- The passive counters on being hit: 25% chance after a critical hit, 5% after a normal one.
- Rare rarity means cheap books and cheap ascension — enough for Faction Wars without investment.
Weaknesses
- 1 321 ATK at 6★ is low for an Attack champion, so his damage ceiling is poor.
- 93 SPD means he is slow and often dies before taking a turn.
- Everything is a coin flip: 10% Stun and 5% counterattack rarely trigger.
- No AoE damage and no debuff or buff that helps the team.
Where to use
The only place he matters is the Dwarves Faction Crypt (rated 2.0), where he chips waves and occasionally stuns. Everything else sits at 1.0: Clan Boss, Hydra, Chimera, Arena, dungeons, Hard mode and Doom Tower. As soon as the faction gets a real champion, Hatchet Slinger becomes food.
Stats and gear
Priority: SPD (aim for 170–200, mandatory given the 93 base) → ATK (2 000+) → C.RATE 100% → C.DMG. A little ACC (100–150) only makes sense if you actually count on the A1 Stun. Recommended sets from the build list are simple: Attack and Speed for damage, Lifesteal if you need him to survive in the Crypt. Do not move good artifacts onto him.
Masteries and blessings
Go down the Offense tree to Pierce Defenses — it is the only mastery listed in the build and the only one that meaningfully changes his damage. Fill the rest with basic survivability masteries. From the relic list he takes Malefic Talon. Blessings are not a priority on a champion who ends up as food.
Tombs
Book A2 first: its three upgrade levels are all −1 cooldown, so the self-protection buff comes back much more often. Then A1 for the extra bonus/penalty chance, i.e. the Stun. The passive gets books last, if ever.
Verdict
Food. Keep him only for the Dwarves Crypt and replace him with the first decent champion the faction gives you.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
