Warcaster — guide
Guide: Warcaster
In short
Warcaster is an Epic Banner Lords Support with Void affinity. His selling point is a team-wide Block Damage buff, which makes him a Clan Boss specialist for unkillable setups; everywhere else he is a solid but narrow support. Build him if you are putting together an unkillable comp or need Faction Wars help — Speed and Accuracy come first.
Strengths
- A3 places Block Damage on all allies for 1 turn — the backbone of unkillable Clan Boss compositions.
- Aura gives +23% Critical Rate to Void allies in all battles: free value for a Void squad and for farming.
- A2 hits all enemies and has a 50% chance to place Block Buffs for 2 turns, stripping shields, heals and buffs in one go.
- A1 has a 40% chance to steal 2 random buffs from the target — takes the key buff off a boss.
- Skill tomes cut A3's cooldown twice (−1 each), which is what makes him rotation-viable.
Weaknesses
- Damage scales off ATK with only 1,013 base ATK — he is not a damage dealer in any shape.
- Block Damage lasts just 1 turn, so the team has to be speed-tuned tightly.
- Base DEF 947 means he folds to AoE without HP and DEF gear.
- Low value in Hydra and Hard mode (2.0); in Arena he is a support only.
Where to use
Clan Boss (4.5) is home turf — that is where the unkillable role lives. Next come Dungeons (3.0), Magic Keep first of all, then Arena (2.5), Faction Wars (2.5), Doom Tower (2.5) and Chimera (2.5) as a secondary support with Block Buffs. Skip him in Hydra and Hard mode (2.0).
Stats and gear
Priority: SPD → ACC → HP/DEF. Rough targets: 200–250 Speed (in an unkillable comp follow your team's tuning instead), 200–250 Accuracy so Block Buffs and the steal land, then pile on HP and DEF. Do not build Critical Rate — the aura already hands Void allies +23%. Sets: Speed, Perception, Accuracy; Immunity or Resilience for Arena. Relics: Orb of Transfixion, Perched Shadow.
Masteries and blessings
Main tree is Support: Invigorated, Targetfinder, Expeditious Exploitation, Gathering Momentum. Spend leftovers in Defence — surviving until A3 comes back matters more than any damage node. Slot Orb of Transfixion or Perched Shadow depending on the fight.
Tombs
Book A3 first: its two cooldown books (−1 each) are what put Block Damage on a usable cycle. Then A2 — +10% and +15% Block Buffs chance plus −1 cooldown. A1's extra steal chance comes last.
Verdict
The site's call is "build him": for an unkillable Clan Boss team he does the job excellently, and while he is narrow elsewhere, he still carries his weight.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
