Rugnor Goldgleam — guide
Guide: Rugnor Goldgleam
In short
Rugnor Goldgleam is a Void epic Attack champion from the Dwarves who pays his own HP for a big unremovable shield, a 75% turn-meter refill and a debuff-loaded nuke. He shines in Clan Boss and Chimera, and his 35% Attack aura gives him a real home in Doom Tower. Build damage first, accuracy second, and keep enough HP that his own Gold Fever doesn't kill him.
Strengths
- Greed (A3) places Decrease DEF 60% and Weaken 25% on the target — plus ATK Up 50% on Rugnor himself — before the hit lands: a full setup package in one cast.
- Gold Fever (A2) fills 75% of his turn meter and puts an unremovable Shield worth 20% of his max HP for 3 turns, so he cycles fast and survives his own sacrifice.
- Spite (passive) shaves 1 turn off Greed's cooldown every time he loses 15% max HP — his A2 self-damage literally accelerates his nuke.
- The default attack has a 50% chance to place Parasite 5% for 2 turns, which is direct value against Chimera.
- 35% Attack aura in Doom Tower helps the whole team.
Weaknesses
- Gold Fever costs 15% of his max HP and can kill him — it ignores Shield and Block Damage, and there is no safety floor.
- Base ATK 1,409 and SPD 99 are unremarkable; without gear he hits soft.
- Debuff chances sit at 50% and 75%, so you need ACC and books before the kit is reliable.
- Weak in Hydra and close to dead weight in Hard mode content.
Where to use
Clan Boss (4/5) and Chimera (4/5) are his best homes — Decrease DEF, Weaken, ATK Up and Parasite all feed boss damage. Next come Faction Wars (3.5/5) and Doom Tower (3/5), where his aura also pays off. Arena and dungeons are a solid 3/5 as a debuffing damage dealer. Hydra is 2/5 and Hard mode 1/5 — don't force him there.
Stats and gear
Priority: ATK% → C.RATE to 100% → C.DMG → SPD (aim 170–200+, so Gold Fever actually powers the rotation) → ACC 200–250 for late content. Add HP% and DEF% — he damages himself, so he needs a buffer. Sets: Savage or Cruel for damage, Speed or Perception for SPD and ACC; Relentless if you can spare the survivability. Relics from the build: Malefic Talon and Irethi Coronet.
Masteries and blessings
Main tree is Offense: the key picks from the build are Pierce Defenses and Boss Slayer, both aimed at boss damage. Finish Offense, then take Support (ACC/survivability) or Defense as the second tree. Relics: Malefic Talon and Irethi Coronet.
Tombs
Book Greed (A3) first: the levels add damage, debuff chance and finally −1 cooldown, which is the whole point. Then Gold Fever for its −1 cooldown — the shield size doesn't scale with books, so it's lower priority. Leave the default attack for last unless you run Chimera.
Verdict
The site verdict is "Storage (fusion)" — he's a fusion ingredient, so don't break him down for a champion. But as the notes say, he's a top epic: if you need a debuffing damage dealer for Clan Boss and Chimera, he earns his books and gear.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.

35% ATK Aura in Doom Tower
Rugnor the Luminous is an Epic hero in black armor from the "Nyresan Union" faction "Dwarves" of the Void affinity. The two-handed axe of this formidable dwarf can strike down even the fiercest enemy. He is insanely greedy for gold and treasures, so you shouldn't stand in his way. Rugnor's skills simply overflow in number. With his base attack, he applies Leech to the enemy, helping the team heal with each hit. With his second skill, although he sacrifices his health, he almost completely fills his Turn Meter and applies a shield to himself that cannot be removed, plus ignores shields and even Block Damage. Increase ATK, Weaken, and Decrease DEF on the third skill, which is recharged by his passive, is a complete weakening of the enemy's armor, who can die from a single blow.
