Runic Warder — guide
Guide: Runic Warder
In short
Runic Warder is a Rare Dwarves champion with the HP role and Magic affinity. He is a defensive support: Rune of Endurance gives the whole team 15% Reflect Damage and 7.5% Regen for 2 turns, while Forged Steel chips away at enemy damage. Build priority is HP and Speed; he has no place in late content, so his home is the Vault (fusion) and Faction Wars.
Strengths
- Both damaging skills scale off HP, so you invest in survivability and still deal damage.
- Rune of Endurance hands out two buffs at once — 15% Reflect Damage and 7.5% Regen for 2 turns.
- Forged Steel hits twice, each hit with a 30% chance to place 50% Decrease ATK for 2 turns — two debuff rolls per cast.
- 19,155 base HP and 55 base RES make him easy to keep alive without expensive gear.
Weaknesses
- 103 base Speed and 903 base DEF are low — without Speed he simply never re-applies his buffs in time.
- 15% Reflect Damage is a small number, and the kit has no cleanse, no revive and no turn meter control.
- Rare stat ceiling: Hydra (1.0), Hard mode (1.0) and Doom Tower (1.5) are basically out of reach.
- Decrease ATK sits at only 30% per hit, so without Accuracy it will not land on bosses.
Where to use
Best spot is Faction Wars (2.5) — there his buffs and bulk actually carry a Dwarves team. Next come Clan Boss (2.5) and dungeons (2.0); the site build points to Fire Knight's Castle, where the double hits and Decrease ATK help. Chimera (2.0) is a leftover option. Arena (1.5) and Doom Tower (1.5) only if you have nothing better. Skip Hydra (1.0) and Hard content (1.0).
Stats and gear
Stack HP — it feeds both his damage and his survival. Rough targets: HP 45,000–55,000, Speed 170–200, Accuracy 150–200 for Forged Steel (lower is fine in Faction Wars), the rest into DEF and RES. Ignore C.RATE and C.DMG — 15%/50% base is not worth investing in. Sets: HP sets (Life, Immortal), Speed boots, and Perception if you are short on Accuracy.
Masteries and blessings
The build lists Invigorated and Targetfinder — simple logic: stay alive, and have the Accuracy to land Forged Steel's debuff. Fill out the Defense tree for HP and survival, and dip into Support for Accuracy and Speed. No blessing is listed: this is a Rare who ends up in the Vault, so do not burn essence — if you must, take a defensive one.
Tombs
Book Rune of Endurance first: two of its levels cut cooldown by 1 each, so your buffs come back much more often. Then Forged Steel — its three chance levels push the debuff from 30% to 50%, which finally makes Decrease ATK reliable. Double Strike last; it is damage only.
Verdict
The site author's verdict is "to the Vault (fusion)". Build him for Faction Wars only and do not sink tomes or good gear into him.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
