Catacomb Councilor — guide

In short

Catacomb Councilor is an Epic Attack champion from the Undead Hordes with Magic affinity. His signature is Army of Death — he strikes a target together with three random allies who use their default skills — backed by the self-heal on Greed. The site author says build him: Speed and damage first.

Strengths

• Army of Death drags three allies into a joint attack, so the damage scales with the quality of your team, not just his own stats.
• Greed hits three times and heals him for 20% of the damage dealt — self-sustain without a healer slot.
• Monstrous Might has a 50% chance to place a 25% Attack buff on himself for 2 turns before the hit lands.
• Magic affinity is strong against Spirit, which helps in Arena and on some stages.
• Easy to gear: he places no debuffs, so no Accuracy is needed at all.

Weaknesses

• Single-target only — no AoE, so he clears dungeon waves slowly.
• Low base stats: 1,454 Attack and 92 Speed, so he needs gear to wake up.
• No debuffs on enemies, which leaves him with very little to offer in Hydra and Chimera (2.0).
• Army of Death lives and dies by your allies — with a weak roster the damage collapses.

Where to use

Arena (3.5) is his best home: the joint attack with a hard-hitting ally deletes a target. Clan Boss (3.0) uses him as an ally-attack enabler. Chimera (3.0), Doom Tower (3.0) and Faction Wars (3.0) are average — usable, not core. Dungeons (2.0), Hydra (2.0) and Hard mode (2.0) are not his fight: single-target damage and zero control.

Stats and gear

Go Attack % and crit first: Critical Rate to 100% (his base is only 15%), Critical Damage 150–200%, Speed 170–200, Attack 3,000+ from gear. Accuracy is pointless — he has no debuffs. Sets: Speed (2-piece) plus Speed or Critical Damage, and Savage/Lethal or Cruel when you want raw damage.

Masteries and blessings

Masteries: the Offense tree down to the final damage mastery (boss-focused for Clan Boss, crit-focused for Arena), then Support for survivability and healing. From the build list take the blessings Invigorated or Heal 'N' Go for sustain, Blessed Heal if you want extra self-healing, Targetfinder when damage matters more. Relics: Orb of Transfixion, Perched Shadow.

Tombs

Book Army of Death first: its level 2 upgrade cuts 1 turn of cooldown from his key skill. Then push Greed to the -1 cooldown at level 6 (expensive, but it speeds up both damage and healing). Monstrous Might only gives extra damage from books — leave it for last.

Verdict

A solid Epic blender for Arena and Clan Boss, but not a universal pick: build him after your key champions and don't expect miracles in Hydra.
