Shadowbow Tirlac — guide
Guide: Shadowbow Tirlac
In short
Shadowbow Tirlac is a Rare Defense champion of the Sylvan Watchers, Spirit affinity. He lives and dies by one skill: Sabotage puts Veil and a Shield worth 20% of his MAX HP on the whole team. His damage scales off DEF, so he builds DEF/HP — but realistically he is a vault champion, and you only gear him if you are pushing Faction Wars.
Strengths
- Sabotage (A3) — Veil for 1 turn on all allies except himself, plus a Shield equal to 20% of his MAX HP for 2 turns. A solid defensive package in one button.
- Passive Camouflage Cover cuts skill damage by 5% for every ally under Veil or Perfect Veil — it combos with his own A3.
- Quick Detachment (A2) hits all enemies with a 3.6x DEF multiplier and gives the team +15% SPD for 2 turns.
- Shadowbow (A1) has a 40% chance (50% when booked) to land 25% Decrease ATK — handy against bosses.
- DEF-scaling damage means you can build him as a tank and still contribute a little.
Weaknesses
- Long cooldowns: 5 turns on A2, 6 turns on A3. Without books his buffs are rarely up.
- Low base SPD (95) and a modest 1,233 base DEF for a Defense champion.
- Veil lasts only 1 turn and never covers him — he is left exposed.
- No healing, no cleanse, no revive, and average damage — he is not a damage dealer.
Where to use
His best ratings are Faction Wars (3.5) and Clan Boss (3.5) — in CB the Shield and the A1 Decrease ATK earn their keep. Then come Hydra (3.0) and Arena (3.0), where only the SPD buff and Shield matter. Dungeons, Doom Tower and Hard modes sit at 2.0 — skip him there — and in Chimera (1.5) he has no place at all.
Stats and gear
Priority: DEF (2,500–3,000+, it feeds his damage) → HP (it feeds the Shield, 40,000+) → SPD (170–200 so his buffs cycle) → ACC (200–250 if you want reliable Decrease ATK on Clan Boss). Ignore C.RATE and C.DMG — 15%/50% base is not worth investing in. Sets: Lifesteal (for Clan Boss), Stalwart, Divine Speed, Protection, Defiant. Go HP% gloves/chest if you play him as a Shield bot, DEF% if you want the damage.
Masteries and blessings
Support + Defense trees: the site's picks are Invigorated and Targetfinder. For Clan Boss, round it out with Warmaster and the usual defensive survival masteries. The only blessing listed is Phantom touch, which is an early-game gift pick — he has no real blessing slot, so don't spend resources there.
Tombs
If you do use him, book Sabotage (A3) first: two books take the cooldown from 6 to 4 turns, which is what makes Veil + Shield actually land on time. Then Quick Detachment (A2) with its two cooldown books for better +15% SPD uptime. The A1 books (chance to 50%) come last. The site author's call is that he is food / fusion material, so books are better spent elsewhere.
Verdict
One good button (Veil + Shield) and a team speed buff — that is the whole kit. Keep a single copy for Faction Wars of the new faction and send the rest to the vault or the fusion.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
