Guide: Troglodyte

In short

Troglodyte is a Common Spirit Orc in the Defense role with exactly one skill: a double hit with a 20% chance to place 25% Attack Down for 1 turn. He never scores above 1.0 out of 5 in any content, which makes him textbook vault and fusion material. Only build him in your first days if you have nothing else to fill an Orc roster slot.

Strengths

  • His single skill hits twice per turn — two rolls for the debuff and slightly more damage on the target.
  • 25% Attack Down is a universally useful debuff against bosses and tanky waves, even if it lands rarely.
  • Common rarity: cheap, drops often, and perfect as fusion material or as food for ranking up better champions.
  • Spirit Orc — can plug an empty slot in a Faction Wars Orc team for the very first stages.

Weaknesses

  • One skill and no passives: outside his A1 he contributes nothing at all.
  • Terrible 6★ base stats: 9,750 HP, 793 DEF, 87 SPD — he is not a tank, not a damage dealer and not a support.
  • The debuff is weak: 20% chance, only 1 turn, and tomes do not raise the chance.
  • No Accuracy in his base stats, so you would have to gear ACC for a debuff that still rarely lands.

Where to use

His best ratings are Dungeons (1.0), campaign hard stages (1.0) and Clan Boss (1.0) — and even there he is just a warm body. Hydra, Chimera, Arena, Doom Tower and Faction Wars sit at 0.5, so keep him out of those entirely. Real use: fusion material, food, and at a stretch a filler Orc for the earliest Faction Wars stages.

Stats and gear

Priority: SPD → ACC → DEF%/HP%. Rough targets: SPD 150–170 so he actually takes turns in early dungeons, ACC 100–150 or the debuff is invisible, everything else into survivability so he does not die to the first AoE. Sets: Speed plus Accuracy or Perception; Lifesteal if you want him to stay alive. Do not take him past 4★ — the resources are wasted.

Masteries and blessings

Only if you truly have nothing else: Offense for Sniper (extra debuff placement chance) and Warmaster; Defense for Tough Skin, Blastproof and Retribution; Support for Steadfast and Rapid Response. Do not complete a full tree. Take the cheapest survivability blessing (Survival Instinct) and only if he is actually in a team.

Tomes

Do not book him. Skill levels add only +5% damage each and never improve the debuff chance — your tomes belong on champions that actually do something.

Verdict

Vault and fusion. Keep one or two spare for fusion events and spend no tomes or gear on him.
