Guide: Halberdier

In short

Halberdier is a Rare Spirit Attack champion from the Banner Lords: a pure single-target damage dealer whose passive hands him a free +40% Critical Damage and whose A2 punches through Shield and Block Damage. He is early-game Arena and Faction Wars filler at best, and the house verdict is blunt — he goes to the vault as fusion material.

Strengths

  • The passive adds a permanent +40% Critical Damage — a genuine multiplier on a Rare, and it is always on with no setup.
  • His A2 ignores Shield and Block Damage, so shield-stacking Arena defences cannot stop the hit.
  • The A1 has a 25% chance to place Weaken 25% for 2 turns, which makes the whole team hit that target harder when it lands.
  • Both actives scale off ATK, so a plain damage build works with no odd stat requirements.
  • For a Rare he genuinely hits hard — the site author notes exactly that.

Weaknesses

  • Weak base kit: 1 178 ATK, 97 SPD, 12 060 HP and 1 046 DEF means he is fragile and moves late.
  • Single target only, with zero utility: no AoE, no self-buffs, no turn meter control.
  • His only debuff is a 25% Weaken on the A1, and landing it needs ACC you should not be building on him.
  • Spirit affinity is weak against Magic, and his ratings in Hydra, dungeons, Hard and Doom Tower are all 1.0 — he does not carry progression.

Where to use

His least bad ratings are Clan Boss and Chimera (2.0) — there he just pours single-target damage, with nothing to offer the team. Arena (1.5) and Faction Wars (1.5) work as a finisher in an early account, especially against shield-reliant setups. Dungeons, Hydra, Hard and Doom Tower (1.0) are not his content, and long term he is a vault/fusion body.

Stats and gear

Priority: C.DMG (the passive multiplies it) → C.RATE to roughly 100% → ATK → SPD. Rough targets for an early build: C.RATE 85–100%, C.DMG 150%+, ATK 2 500–3 000, SPD 150–170. Skip ACC entirely — a 25% Weaken is not worth it. Sets: Crit Damage and Attack sets (Savage, Lethal, Cruel, plain Attack), Speed boots always. From the build list, Malefic Talon is the named relic — use it if you have it, but it is not a reason to invest.

Masteries and blessings

Attack tree like any damage dealer: Pierce Defenses (listed in the build), the Crit Rate and Crit Damage masteries, and Flawless Execution at the top for +20% C.DMG. Second tree: Defence so he survives to take a turn; Support only if you insist on ACC for the Weaken. Blessings barely matter on a Rare — do not buy souls, take whatever drops.

Tombs/Tomes

If you have spare tomes, book the A2 first: level 6 gives −1 cooldown and the levels add +25% damage total, which is the only real upgrade he has. Booking the A1 just raises the Weaken chance above 25%. Honestly, do not spend tomes on him at all.

Verdict

A filler Rare damage dealer: he can close a few early Arena and Faction Wars fights, then he belongs in the vault as fusion material. Not worth tomes, gear or souls long term.
