Hegemon — guide
Guide: Hegemon
In short
Hegemon is a Legendary Dark champion listed as an Attack type, but in practice he is an Arena opener, not a damage dealer. His passive, Doom Advent, makes him act first in every round, while his second skill covers the whole enemy team with Decrease ATK 50% and a 50% chance to place Block Active Skills. Build him for Accuracy and survivability: his 1,487 base Attack is far too low for a nuker.
Strengths
- The passive guarantees him the first turn of every round — you always get initiative.
- AoE opener: Decrease ATK 50% for 2 turns plus a 50% chance of Block Active Skills, so the enemy combo breaks before it ever starts.
- The same passive gives all allies +19% Critical Rate in all battles — free value in Arena and dungeons alike.
- The A1 hits random targets twice and has a 35% chance to place Decrease SPD 30% for 2 turns; tomes push that chance to 50%.
Weaknesses
- Fragile base stats: 815 Defense and 19,155 HP — he folds fast without defensive gear.
- Low damage: 1,487 Attack with 1.7× and 3.7× multipliers means he is not a PvE damage dealer.
- Against high-Resistance teams his debuffs simply miss, and without them he does nothing.
- In long fights (Clan Boss, Hydra) his one trick — going first — matters very little.
Where to use
Arena is his home (4.5/5), where the passive and the mass debuff line up perfectly. Faction Wars (4.0/5) is also a good fit thanks to the control. Dungeons and higher difficulties (3.0/5) are situational — Dragon and Minotaur work fine. Doom Tower (2.5/5) is a niche pick. Skip him for Clan Boss, Hydra and Chimera (2.0/5 each).
Stats and gear
Priorities: Accuracy first, then survivability. Speed matters mainly for mirror fights against other Hegemons (the fastest one goes first); normal turn order is irrelevant to him.
- Accuracy: 200–250+, higher for Arena teams stacked on Resistance.
- HP% and DEF% on ring, amulet and banner are your main insurance.
- Speed: 96 base, 150–200 is plenty for mirror matchups.
- Critical Rate up to 100% and Critical Damage only if you want secondary damage.
- Sets: Speed, Perception/Accuracy, Immortal or HP.
Masteries and blessings
The site build leans offense, aiming to apply pressure from turn one.
- Masteries: Pierce Defenses, Foekiller, Piercing Strike, Constant Onslaught, Bloodthirsty Prowess.
- Relics: Malefic Talon, The Cat's Gaze, Gorecrescent.
Tombs
Book the A1 first: tomes raise the Decrease SPD chance from 35% to 50%, the cheapest real gain he gets. On the AoE books only add damage (+5/+5/+10/+10%) while the Block chance stays the same, so take those second if you have spares.
Verdict
The site's verdict is to build him, primarily for Arena: a guaranteed first turn plus mass Decrease ATK and Block Active Skills make him a great opener — just never treat him as your damage dealer.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
Skills
Gravehold
Damage based on [ATK] = 1.7 × [ATK]
Chilling Cold
Damage based on [ATK] = 3.7 × [ATK]

Doom's Advent (Passive)
If several Hegemons take part in a battle, the one with the highest SPD goes first – and then in decreasing order.

Hegemon Raid Shadow Legends is a Champion from the "The Corrupted" faction of the "Knights Revenant" faction. His main role in the team is Attack. Hegemon is considered one of the best Champions in the Arena thanks to his passive ability and AoE debuff. He is also quite good against the Dragon and Minotaur.
