Cagebreaker — guide
Guide: Cagebreaker
In short
Cagebreaker is an Epic Attack champion from the Ogryn Tribes with a Spirit affinity. He rarely shines: the only genuinely useful part of his kit is the aura giving Spirit allies +40% Attack, while his three damaging skills with Decrease DEF and Sleep are unreliable. Build him only for Faction Wars or as an aura bot — there is little reason to invest.
Strengths
- Aura: +40% Attack to Spirit allies in all battles — a real team bonus.
- Solid multipliers: 3.8× ATK on a single target and 3.5× ATK on all enemies.
- Decrease DEF 60% for 2 turns right on his default skill — helps crack waves.
- His AoE cuts each target's MAX HP by 50% of damage dealt and grants an extra turn if an enemy dies.
Weaknesses
- Every debuff sits on a 40% chance — no consistency at all.
- Sleep is broken by the next hit and is close to useless against bosses.
- Weak base stats: 1,409 Attack, 826 Defense and only 98 Speed.
- No poisons, no HP burn, no support tools — nothing for Clan Boss or Hydra.
Where to use
Best spot is Ogryn Tribes Faction Wars (2.5/5), where his aura and AoE at least do something. In Arena (2/5) he is only worth it as an aura carrier for a Spirit team — his damage into shields and tanky targets is laughable. In dungeons (2/5) he can clear waves with his AoE, but the competition is brutal. Clan Boss, Hydra, Chimera, Doom Tower and Hard modes all sit at 2/5 — not his fight.
Stats and gear
Priority: ATK% → C.RATE to 100% → C.DMG → SPD → ACC. Rough targets: 170–200 Speed, 150–200 Accuracy (otherwise Decrease DEF and Sleep never land), 100% C.RATE, 150%+ C.DMG. ATK% gloves, ATK% or DEF% chest, Speed boots. Sets: Attack, Lifesteal (to survive waves) and Speed. The recommended relic picks are Irethi Coronet and Gorecrescent.
Masteries and blessings
Main tree is Offense: Pierce Defenses, Foekiller, Piercing Strike, Bloodthirsty Prowess, Boss Slayer. Take Support or Defense as the second tree so he survives to a second round and picks up Accuracy. No blessings are listed in the build — he does not need them, so don't spend resources there.
Tombs
Do not book him — that is the direct recommendation. Cooldown cuts and extra debuff chance will not turn 40% into reliability, and the tomes are wasted. If you absolutely must, put them into the AoE first, but other Epics deserve them more.
Verdict
A weak Epic: vault, fusion fodder, or at most a Faction Wars aura bot. Zero investment is the correct call.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
