Hordin — guide
Guide: Hordin
In short
Hordin is an Epic Attack champion of the Banner Lords with Magic affinity. He shines on the Arena: Burning Hatred stacks ATK, C.RATE and SPD on himself and hands him an extra turn, while Fierce Strike's kill-triggered extra turn keeps the chain going. In PvE he is an early-game pick and a Faction Crypts helper, and he falls off towards late game — build him for Arena and FW, not for bosses.
Strengths
- Burning Hatred gives +50% ATK, +30% C.RATE and +30% SPD for 2 turns and then an extra turn — a free self-buff right before the swing.
- Fierce Strike hits twice at 1.8× ATK and grants another turn if it kills. On Arena that often means one kill turns into two.
- Bloodletting deals 6.5× ATK to one target, has a 60% chance to place 50% Decrease ATK for 2 turns and heals him for 10% of damage dealt — damage, survivability and a useful debuff in one button.
- His aura gives +20% SPD to allies in Faction Crypts, which genuinely helps close FW stages.
Weaknesses
- Weak base for an attacker: 1,321 ATK and 95 SPD, so everything depends on gear.
- No AoE and almost no control — 50% Decrease ATK from a single skill is all he brings.
- All his buffs are self-only; he gives the team no shields and no boss debuffs, hence 2.0 in CB and 1.0 in Hydra.
- Without tomes his third skill sits on a 6-turn cooldown, so he spends half the fight doing nothing special.
Where to use
His main home is Arena (3.5), where the self-buff plus kill-chaining works best. Then Faction Crypts (2.5), both as damage and as a SPD aura. Dungeons, CB and Chimera (2.0) are early-game only, until you have real damage dealers. Doom Tower (1.5) is situational. Skip Hydra and Hard mode (1.0) — those want AoE and control.
Stats and gear
Priority: ATK% → C.RATE → C.DMG → SPD → ACC. Targets: around 100% total C.RATE, but remember his own +30% — roughly 70% from gear is enough; 150–200%+ C.DMG; 170–200 SPD so the third skill comes back around; 100–150 ACC if you want the Decrease ATK to land in Arena. Recommended sets are Attack and Lifesteal (4-piece for sustain), with SPD boots. From your relic list, Malefic Talon and Gorecrescent.
Masteries and blessings
Attack tree: Pierce Defenses, Foekiller, Piercing Strike, Bloodthirsty Prowess — the standard single-target damage package. Spend the rest on survivability and cooldown-friendly picks. No blessings are listed for him, so take generic damage or sustain ones for Arena.
Tomes
Book Burning Hatred first: 6→5 turns of cooldown means the buff is up almost half the time. Then Bloodletting for the 60→70% Decrease ATK chance and damage. Fierce Strike only gains damage, so it gets books last.
Verdict
The site's call: vault (fusion). Arena is his lane and he holds it well until late game, but after that he gets replaced.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
