Courtier — guide

In short

Courtier is a Rare Attack champion of the Banner Lords with Force affinity. He doesn't do much: mostly a Banner Lords Crypt filler and an emergency body for Hydra thanks to his AoE Decrease SPD. Build priority is minimal — enough to clear Faction Wars, no tomes or top gear.

Strengths

• Hat-trick hits 3 times with a 30% chance to remove a random buff — handy against shields and buff stacking.
• Twisted Strike is a 2-hit AoE with a 33% chance to place a 30% Decrease SPD for 2 turns.
• Deceptive Maneuver has a 25% chance to place Freeze for 1 turn — a small bonus in long fights.
• Force affinity helps against Dark-affinity waves and arena teams.

Weaknesses

• Low base stats: 1,277 ATK, 92 SPD, 903 DEF — neither damage nor durability.
• Every debuff is random with a low chance, so you can't plan around him.
• No buffs for the team, no support, no turn-meter control.
• The ratings say it all: 1.0 in Clan Boss and dungeons, 1.0 in Doom Tower and Hard mode.

Where to use

Best spot is Faction Wars (2.5), where he at least helps clear waves with his AoE and strips buffs. In Hydra (2.0) he works as a cheap Decrease SPD source on the heads, but only if your roster is thin. In Arena (1.5) he's a low-tier AoE damage pick at best. Skip him in Clan Boss (1.0), dungeons (1.0), Hard mode (1.0) and Doom Tower (1.0).

Stats and gear

The goal is to survive until his turn and actually land debuffs. Targets: SPD 170–200, ACC 180–220 (for Decrease SPD and buff removal), ATK 2,500+, C.RATE 70–100%, C.DMG 100%+.

• Sets: Speed + Perception for accuracy; swap in Lifesteal or Immortal if he keeps dying.
• Main stats: gauntlets C.RATE or ATK%, chest ATK%, boots SPD.
• Relic from the recommended list: Orb of Transfixion.

Masteries and blessings

From the recommended build take Invigorated and Targetfinder. Fill the rest as needed — Offense for damage or Support for survivability. Don't spend on blessings: a Rare with these stats gives almost nothing back.

Tombs

If you do build him, book Hat-trick first: level 4 adds 5% to the buff-removal chance, level 6 cuts 1 turn of cooldown. Twisted Strike is second (-1 cooldown at level 5). Honestly though, save your books for Epics and Legendaries.

Verdict

Food. Courtier is a Faction Wars Crypt filler and nothing more — don't invest resources in him.
