Deathchanter — guide
Guide: Deathchanter
In short
Deathchanter is a Rare Orc of the Magic affinity with the Health role: a Shield off his default attack and a 100% Heal Reduction debuff are his whole kit. He shines almost nowhere outside Faction Wars, so don't pour resources into him early. Build priority is minimal — Speed and Accuracy, just enough for the debuff to land.
Strengths
- 100% Heal Reduction for 3 turns is the one genuinely useful thing he brings — it shuts down healers in Faction Wars and leech bosses.
- His default attack gives him a Shield equal to 20% of damage dealt for 2 turns — small, but free every turn.
- 27% Defense aura for Arena allies — passive value for an Orc squad.
- 19,650 HP at 6★ is a solid base for a Rare.
Weaknesses
- All three skills scale damage from ATK, and his ATK is 815. The Health role doesn't save him: even the A2 that "grows with HP" still ends up scaling off attack.
- 89 Speed — he barely gets turns, so Heal Reduction lands rarely.
- Cooldowns of 6 turns on the A3 and 4 on the A2, before any tomes.
- Ratings of 1.0–1.5 almost everywhere: not needed in Clan Boss, Hydra, Arena or dungeons.
Where to use
Faction Wars (2.0) is his best home — there he fills an Orc slot as a Heal Reduction and Shield carrier. In Doom Tower and Chimera (1.5) he's only worth a slot for that same debuff. Clan Boss, Hydra, Arena, dungeons and Hard mode sit at 1.0 — he just wastes the slot.
Stats and gear
Priority: Speed → Accuracy → HP. Rough targets: SPD 170–190, ACC 200+ (150 is enough for Faction Wars waves), HP as high as possible, and don't ignore Defense — a 903 base is thin. If you build for damage, push C.RATE to 100%, but remember: with 815 ATK the numbers stay pitiful.
Sets: Speed plus Perception for debuff landing, or Crit Rate / Attack if you insist on some damage. Relics from the list: Malefic Talon, Orb of Transfixion.
Masteries and blessings
From the recommended list: Pierce Defenses, Invigorated, Targetfinder — leaning into penetration and accuracy. Nothing more is worth investing; in hard content he doesn't live to the end of the fight. Blessings are an afterthought, only if he's already locked into your Faction Wars team.
Tombs
Book the A3 (Bloodletting) first: two -1 turn steps cut the cooldown from 6 to 4, so Heal Reduction actually comes around often enough to matter. Then the A2 for -1 turn. Leave the A1 alone — unless he's a permanent Faction Wars member, Rare books are worth more than he is.
Verdict
Fodder. Keep one copy for Faction Wars and feed the rest.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
