Pikeman — guide
Guide: Pikeman
In short
Pikeman is a Common Banner Lords defense champion with Magic affinity whose entire kit is one A1 that may place a 30% Decrease DEF for 2 turns. He never scores above 1.0 out of 5 in any content, so there is no reason to invest in him. The site author's verdict is blunt: food.
Strengths
- His only useful effect is 30% Decrease DEF for 2 turns, which does help early teams hit harder.
- Magic affinity occasionally works in his favour against Force and Spirit enemies in early campaign.
- As a Common champion he costs no Tomes at all — skill upgrades come from duplicate copies.
- Cheap to level and completely painless to feed away once a real roster appears.
Weaknesses
- One skill and zero ally protection — the "Defense" role tag is not backed by his kit.
- Weak base stats: 859 DEF and 11,235 HP mean he will never be a real tank, even in good gear.
- A 30% debuff chance (55% at max skill level) is unreliable at best.
- No ACC in his base stats, so you would have to gear Accuracy for a single A1 — bad trade.
Where to use
His relative best areas are Arena, Dungeons and Hard campaign, where he sits at a flat 1.0 out of 5 — in practice that means the first campaign stages before you have any damage dealer. Faction Wars, Clan Boss, Hydra, Chimera and Doom Tower are all 0.5; he does not carry a single wave for Banner Lords, so do not build him for Faction Wars either.
Stats and gear
The author provided no build list, and that is the point — he is not worth gear. If you must fill a slot early: DEF → HP → SPD, with Accuracy only if you actually rely on his Decrease DEF. Rough early targets: SPD 170+, DEF 2,000+, HP 30,000+, ACC 100–150. Sets: Speed, Defense, Life. Skip C.RATE and C.DMG entirely — he is not a damage dealer.
Masteries and blessings
Masteries on a Common champion are wasted resources; do not farm them for Pikeman. If he is in your starting team anyway, take the Defense tree for survivability and Support for Accuracy/Speed, but do not chase the expensive nodes. Blessings are not available to Common champions, so that section does not apply.
Tombs
Do not spend Tomes — Common champions upgrade skills by sacrificing duplicates, not books. Copies of Pikeman arrive on their own, so at most feed duplicates for the extra +15% debuff chance if he is still in your team.
Verdict
A filler Common with no role and no numbers: keep him for the first hour of a new account, then feed him without regret.
