Ogryn Jailer — guide
Guide: Ogryn Jailer
In short
Ogryn Jailer is a Rare Force Attack champion from Ogryn Tribes whose whole kit revolves around removing and stealing enemy buffs. He shines in Faction Wars and as a buff-stripper in the Arena, and in Clan Boss he fits anti-kill setups where he does not have to survive on his own. Build priority: attack and crit first, accuracy and speed after that.
Strengths
- Extraction (A2) steals 2 random buffs at 40% (up to 55% with books) and lands an extra hit whenever a buff is stolen — effectively a double strike.
- Show of Force (A3) deals 20% more damage to a target with no buffs — a clean finisher right after the strip.
- The passive gives allies +20 Accuracy in Dungeons — free utility for the whole team.
- Custody (A1) removes 1 random buff, which is handy against shields and buffs in the Arena and Faction Wars.
Weaknesses
- Low base stats: 1,299 ATK, 980 DEF, 11,235 HP — he folds under focused damage.
- Removal and steal are all chance-based, so the result is unreliable.
- 99 SPD means he will not take turns without speed gear.
- Almost irrelevant in endgame: Hard 1/5, Hydra and Chimera 2/5 each.
Where to use
- Arena (3/5): his main home — he strips and steals buffs, disrupting shield and increase-heavy teams.
- Clan Boss (3/5): the author recommends him for anti-kill compositions, where A2 brings big damage without needing survivability.
- Faction Wars (2.5/5): one of the main reasons to level him — a working Ogryn Tribes body.
- Dungeons and Doom Tower (2/5): taken more for the Accuracy passive than for damage.
- Hydra, Chimera, Hard (1–2/5): skip.
Stats and gear
- Targets: SPD 170–200+, ATK 2,500–3,000, C.RATE 100%, C.DMG 150%+, ACC 150–200 so strips and steals land on bosses.
- Crit Rate gloves, ATK% chest, SPD boots; Accuracy or ATK banner.
- The recommendation in his notes is crit chance and attack gear — Attack and Crit Rate sets.
- Relic listed in the build: Malefic Talon.
Masteries and blessings
- Offense tree down to Pierce Defenses — the key mastery from the build — plus standard damage nodes; pick Warmaster or Giant Slayer for boss fights.
- Second tree: Defense, so a Rare body survives long enough to use A2.
- No blessing is specified in the build: take a damage blessing if you use him as a damage dealer, or a survivability one for Faction Wars.
Tomes
Book Extraction (A2) first: it gains +15% steal chance and the final level cuts the cooldown, which is what makes the champion work. Then Show of Force (A3) for cooldown and damage; leave A1 for last.
Verdict
The author's verdict is to level him: a cheap Rare buff-stripper who covers Faction Wars and earns a slot in Arena and anti-kill Clan Boss teams.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
