Grinner — guide
Guide: Grinner
In short
Grinner is a Rare Support from the Undead Hordes with Force affinity. His main selling point is Revive — an ally comes back with 50% HP plus a Shield worth 20% of Grinner's MAX HP — backed by a 50% Increase ATK buff from his A1 and an AoE buff strip. Build him for Speed and HP: the fatter Grinner is, the bigger the Shield on the revive.
Strengths
- Revive brings an ally back at 50% HP with a 2-turn Shield of 20% of his MAX HP — in Faction Crypts that is a second life for your damage dealer.
- Bile has a 25% chance to place 50% Increase ATK on the whole team for 2 turns — free damage for the squad.
- Electrocute hits all enemies and has a 20% chance to remove a random buff from each — real value against shields and buff stacks.
- Aura: +30 Resistance to allies in Faction Crypts, a nice extra for your FW team.
Weaknesses
- Low base stats for a support: 14 370 HP and 1 134 DEF at 6★ — he needs protection himself.
- 110 base Speed is slow; without Speed gear the revive lands too late.
- Both effects are unreliable procs (25% and 20%) — you cannot plan around them.
- No healing and no damage: both attacks scale off ATK, a stat you never build on him.
Where to use
Faction Crypts first (2.5/5): revive plus Shield plus the Resistance aura cover exactly what Undead Hordes usually lack. Arena (3/5) and Clan Boss (3/5) are fine as a budget Increase ATK carrier and an insurance policy if your damage dealer dies. Hydra, Chimera, dungeons, Hard mode and Doom Tower (2/5 each) get very little from him — those fights want control, healing or damage, not a revive every few turns.
Stats and gear
- Speed is priority one — aim for roughly 180–220 with gear and masteries.
- HP 35–45k+: the Shield size on his revive scales directly from it.
- DEF around 1 800–2 200 so he survives long enough to revive anyone.
- ACC 100–150 if you want Electrocute to strip buffs reliably.
- Ignore C.RATE and C.DMG completely.
- Sets: Lifesteal, HP, Speed; Accuracy as a situational swap.
Masteries and blessings
Main tree is Support — take Invigorated and Targetfinder from the recommended list. Second tree: Defense for survivability. From the relic list, Orb of Transfixion. For blessings stick to defensive or utility picks; he is never built for damage.
Tombs
Put the first Tomes into Revive: three levels of -1 cooldown each, and the revive comes back noticeably faster — that is his entire job. Next, Electrocute (strip chance and cooldown). Bile last, its books only add damage.
Verdict
Level him — but deliberately, mainly for Faction Crypts: a Rare revive with a Shield earns its Tomes. As an all-rounder he is thin; as an FW support he does exactly what is asked.
Build
The build is a guideline: the first sets in the list fit most often. Adapt it to your artifacts and goals.
