Celestial Griffin — guide (Grythion)
Guide: Celestial Griffin
In short
Grythion, the Celestial Griffin, is the boss of the top Doom Tower floors (floor 90 in the rotation). You farm him for floor rewards: skill tomes, shards, gems and other scarce resources. What sets him apart: Grythion punishes turn meter reduction, dumps his own debuffs onto your team, and snowballs over time — you cannot afford a long fight.
Mechanics
- Blast Wave (A1) — hits one target and applies [Fear] with a high chance.
- Rockfall (A2) — transfers all of his debuffs onto every enemy, then hits the whole team; each transferred debuff also fills his turn meter.
- A Taste of Death (A3) — strips buffs from all enemies (Resistance does not stop it) and hits everyone, with damage growing per buff removed.
- Divine Strike (passive) — when his HP is pushed down, he strikes back and applies [Heal Reduction].
- Celestial Bonds (passive) — he gains a stack at the start of his turn and when an enemy's HP drops low: ATK, CRI Rate, CRI DMG and SPD all climb. At 10+ stacks he ignores [Shield], [Block Damage] and [Unkillable]. Stacks cannot be stripped or blocked, and cap at 20.
- Tailwind (passive) — any turn meter reduction on him cuts your whole team's turn meter by the same amount, and he stuns enemies whose meter is fully drained. Conversely, when your champion's meter fills, his fills too.
- Immunities — Stun, Freeze, Sleep, Provoke, Fear, True Fear, Block Active Skills, HP exchange/equalisation and cooldown increase do not work on him.
- Other — poison damage is cut by roughly 90%, max-HP-based damage is capped at about 10% of his max HP per hit, and turn meter reduction only works at half strength.
What your team needs
- 300–350+ RES — on high floors he sits near 300 ACC; without Resistance, [Fear] and his debuff transfer end the run.
- Block Debuffs kept up constantly — the main answer to his transfer and [Fear]; a cleanse is your backup layer.
- 220–260+ SPD on the team, plus [Decrease SPD] on him and/or [Increase SPD] on yours. Use turn meter reduction only deliberately, never as the core plan.
- 250–320 ACC for [Decrease DEF], [Decrease SPD] and [Heal Reduction].
- Do not bury him in debuffs — A2 hands them straight back to your whole team.
- Damage: regular nukers plus max-HP hitters (multi-hit is better because of the 10% cap). Poison is not a damage plan here.
Teams
- Budget: Doompriest — Mausoleum Mage — Stag Knight — Geomancer — Whisper. Doompriest cleanses passively, Mausoleum Mage holds Block Debuffs, Stag Knight brings Decrease DEF, Geomancer adds HP burn and passive damage, Whisper finishes.
- Mid-game: Rector Drath — Godseeker Aniri — Fahrakin the Fat — Geomancer — Royal Guard. Double healing and revives, ally attacks with Decrease DEF, and max-HP damage — no legendaries required.
- Endgame: Duchess Lilitu — Mithrala Lifebane — Marius the Gallant — Gnut — Acrizia. Lilitu handles Block Debuffs and cleansing, Mithrala keeps the team buffed and clean, and the damage kills him before he reaches 10 Celestial Bonds stacks.
Common mistakes
- Cutting his turn meter without Resistance — he cuts yours back and stuns half the team.
- Loading him with poison, HP burn and a pile of debuffs — A2 returns them all to your team.
- Running without Block Debuffs: [Fear] plus [Heal Reduction] wrecks your rotation.
- Building defence around [Unkillable] or [Block Damage] — at 10 stacks he ignores both.
Tips
- Keep Block Debuffs permanently up and treat cleansing as a second layer.
- Put your damage dealers in Lifesteal for sustain without an extra healer.
- Debuffers on Accuracy/Perception, everyone else on Speed.
- Giant Slayer and Warmaster masteries noticeably speed up the kill.
- Auto-battle is fine, but check skill order: Block Debuffs must land before his A2 and A3.

More details
A1 - Explosive Wave Attacks an enemy. Has a 100% chance of placing a [Fear] debuff for 1 turn.
A2 - Rockfall Transfers all debuffs from itself to each enemy, then attacks all enemies. Fills its Turn Meter by 5% for each transferred debuff. CD - 3
A3 - Taste of Death Removes buffs from all enemies, then attacks them. RES does not apply to the buff removal. Damage increases by 10% for each buff removed. Cooldown - 3
A4 - Divine Strike [Passive] Attacks an enemy each time their HP drops below 50%. This attack places a [Healing Reduction] debuff of 100% for 2 turns.
A5 - Unearthly Bonds [Passive] At the start of each turn, places one [Celestial Bonds] buff on itself. Places a [Celestial Bonds] buff each time an enemy's HP drops below 50%. Each [Celestial Bonds] buff increases [Gryphon]'s ATK by 5%, C.RATE by 3%, C.DMG by 5%, and SPD by 2.5. If [Gryphon] has 10 or more [Celestial Bonds] buffs, he ignores [Shield], [Block Damage], and [Unkillable]. The maximum number of [Celestial Bonds] buffs is 20. [Celestial Bonds] buffs cannot be blocked or removed.
A6 - Tailwind [Passive] Whenever [Gryphion]'s Turn Meter is reduced, all enemies' Turn Meter is reduced by the same amount. Places a [Stun] debuff on enemies with fully reduced Turn Meter for 1 turn. Whenever an enemy's Turn Meter is filled, [Gryphion]'s Turn Meter is filled by the same amount. Turn Meter filling is counted separately for each enemy.
A7 - Absolute Power [Passive] Immunity to [Stun], [Freeze], [Sleep], [Provoke], [Block Active Skills], [Fear], and [True Fear]. Immunity to HP exchange, HP equalization, and cooldown increase effects.
A8 - Forbearance [Passive] Reduces the damage received from [Poison] by 90%.
A9 - Almighty [Passive] Skills that deal damage based on MAX HP cannot remove more than 10% of the boss's MAX HP.
A10 - Inertia [Pass.] Turn Meter reduction effects only work against the boss at 50% of their strength.
Tips for completing.
1) Decrease SPD + Increase SPD.
2) Block Debuffs
3) Healing+Continuous Heal
4) 340+ resistance (Griffin has 250 speed and 300 accuracy on floor 90)
Teams for completion:
1) Rhotos with a Lifesteal set + SPD aura (Khatun, Lysandra, Fu-Shan, Skartorsis).
Stats can be seen below.

2) The second team is built around cutting the Griffin's Turn Meter + resistance, so the Griffin cannot cut Turn Meter in response and takes few turns.

All champions have 240-260 RES +80 from aura, and 320 ACC. The masteries Giant Slayer and Warmaster are also important.
Useful Champions against the Griffin:
