Frost Spider — guide (Sorath)
Guide: Frost Spider
In short
Frost Spider (Sorath) is a Doom Tower boss you first meet on floor 40 in any difficulty; higher floors mean thicker HP bars and much harder hits. You farm her for Doom Tower chests — artefacts, books, gems and other seasonal rewards. The catch: without HP Burn or Block Revive she just gets back up with half her health and summons more Spiders, and the fight never ends.
Mechanics
- A1 — hits the whole team and drops Accuracy. If your ACC is only just at the floor requirement, your debuffs start missing right after it.
- A2 — second AoE. On frozen champions it lands Block Buffs and Heal Reduction; on everyone else, Decrease SPD and Decrease ATK. Freezes therefore snowball into the worst possible debuffs.
- A3 — strips every buff from your team, then hits everyone and tries to Freeze. The Freeze chance drops noticeably while she is under HP Burn. Every Freeze she lands fills her own turn meter.
- Passive — a chance to Freeze whoever attacks her, plus extra Defence and Resistance while she has no HP Burn on her.
- Passive — if she dies without HP Burn, she revives with half HP, a full turn meter and reset cooldowns, and summons two Spiders (two up at once maximum).
- Immunities: Stun, Freeze, Sleep, Provoke, Fear, True Fear, Block Active Skills, HP exchange and HP equalise, cooldown increase.
- Damage from MAX HP skills is capped at roughly a tenth of her bar per hit, and Turn Meter reduction effects work at half strength against her.
What your team needs
ACC around 250–350+ (the number climbs with the floor), SPD 180–220+ on support, high HP and DEF so the AoEs don't wipe you, and an HP Burn source — that is non-negotiable. On top of that: Decrease DEF, Decrease ATK, a cleanse or Block Debuffs for her strip-then-Freeze turn, plus heals and shields. Turn Meter control is a trap, and hard control simply doesn't land.
Teams
- Starter: Kael (damage and poisons), Geomancer (HP Burn), Doompriest (heals and cleanse), Stag Knight (Decrease DEF and ATK), Mausoleum Mage (cleanse and debuff protection). Cheap core that keeps the burn up and survives the first AoE.
- Mid-game: Geomancer, Venomage (Decrease DEF, Heal Reduction, poisons), Whisper (single-target damage), Rector Drath (healing and support), Fenax (Block Revive as insurance). Slower, but it forgives you if the HP Burn drops off.
- Endgame: Marius the Gallant and Gnut (main damage), Duchess Lilitu (support and debuff protection), Mithrala Lifebane (cleanse, Accuracy and Defence buffs), Underpriest Brogni (shields). Shield-heavy and consistent — the fight is over in a couple of minutes.
Common mistakes
- Going in with neither HP Burn nor Block Revive — she keeps reviving and the run goes nowhere.
- Building around Turn Meter control: it's halved, and the Freezes you eat just feed her turn meter.
- No cleanse, so A2 lands on frozen champions — Block Buffs plus Heal Reduction shuts your support down.
- Ignoring Accuracy: the burn falls off, Decrease DEF misses, and the whole plan collapses.
- Relying only on MAX HP damage — every hit is capped at around ten percent of her bar.
Tips
- Lifesteal on your damage dealer and support helps a lot: she hits everyone, and the healing comes straight back.
- Speed and Accuracy sets on support are the default; Perception suits whoever carries the cleanse.
- Poison does not stop the revive — only HP Burn does. Don't mix them up.
- Set HP Burn as top priority in your auto-battle skill settings, otherwise the boss never dies.
- Don't count on buffs before her strip-and-Freeze turn; invest in raw survivability and masteries for Accuracy and defence.

How to beat the Ice Spider?
The most important thing to successfully and adequately beat the Spider Queen is to use Champions with HP Burn, but you can also beat her with Champions with Block Revive, but in that case you will take a long time to kill the Spider Queen, because in her passive skill Icy Blood Increases her Defense and Resistance if she is not under the effect of HP Burn. and also on her third skill her Freeze chance drops from 100% to 50%. So no matter what, Champions with HP Burn will be more effective.
