Guide: Classic Arena

In short

Classic Arena is the 4v4 PvP mode where you pick an opponent from the list and fight their defense team controlled by AI. Wins give Arena Medals, chests and rank progress; medals go into the Great Hall, so Arena is one of the main sources of permanent stat bonuses. Farm it for Great Hall progress, weekly rewards and a reality check for your PvP teams.

Mechanics

  • Speed race. The attacker does not get a free first turn: turn order comes from SPD, auras and turn-meter boosts. A team without a speed lead often never gets to press its buttons.
  • Auras and Great Hall. Great Hall bonuses and hero auras stack with gear. In higher tiers the SPD and ACC gap matters more than hero rarity.
  • Opening combo. Most fights start with buff stripping, Decrease DEF, Block Buffs or control. Then your damage dealers remove the main threat.
  • Cleanup. If the first burst does not kill, the fight turns into a grind: revive, Heal Reduction, Block Revive and cleanse become important.
  • AI defense. Your defense plays automatically and the AI may use skills poorly. That is why defense teams are usually built tankier than offense teams, with HP/DEF, revive and buffs.

What your team needs

Offense needs a plan for the first two turns. Your speed lead and booster must be faster than the enemy; debuffers need ACC or Decrease DEF and Block Buffs get resisted. Build damage dealers around crit damage, and give support enough HP/DEF to survive the opening burst. Targets depend on tier: lower ranks often work with around 200 SPD, while high tiers expect 300+ and high ACC.

  • Effects: Decrease DEF, Weaken, Block Buffs, Block Revive, Heal Reduction, cleanse, Increase ATK, Shield, revive, control (Provoke, Stun, Freeze).
  • Auras: SPD is the priority for offense; HP/DEF for defense. An ACC aura helps debuffers.
  • Stats: booster — as much SPD as possible; debuffer — ACC and SPD; damage — crit rate/crit damage plus ATK or HP scaling; tank — HP/DEF and RES.

Teams

  • Budget: Deacon Armstrong (speed lead/booster), Madame Serris (buff strip + Decrease DEF), Genbo the Dishonored (damage), Kael (damage). Why it works: cheap “boost → strip/Decrease DEF → two damage dealers” chain; if the fight drags, Kael adds poison and cleanup damage.
  • Mid-game: Arbiter (SPD/revive), Madame Serris (debuffs), Magnarr (HP-based damage), Ursala the Mourner (support/revive). Why it works: fast opening plus a backup plan for longer fights with revive.
  • Endgame: Arbiter (SPD/revive), Armanz the Magnificent (control), Taras the Fierce (damage), Marichka the Unbreakable (support/revive). Why it works: control slows the enemy, Taras closes the kill, and Marichka keeps the team from collapsing after the first exchange.

Common mistakes

  • Attacking without a speed lead and booster — the enemy simply moves first.
  • Ignoring ACC on debuffers: Decrease DEF and Block Buffs get resisted.
  • Running four damage dealers with no support: after the first exchange there is no revive or cleanse.
  • Never updating defense or Great Hall — rank and bonuses stall.

Tips

  • In the Great Hall, take SPD and ACC first — they help both offense and defense.
  • Use Speed/Perception on boosters, Accuracy/Perception on debuffers, Savage/Relentless on damage, Stoneskin or Immortal on support.
  • Masteries: damage dealers take offense/crit masteries, support takes survival and RES; do not give everyone the same page.
  • Do not rely on auto-battle in high tiers: the AI often wastes the key skill.
  • Refresh the opponent list; for medal farming you can set a weak defense, but remember it lowers rank and weekly rewards.
