Faction Crypts
Guide: Faction Wars
In short
Faction Wars (Faction Crypts) is 14 crypts, one per faction, with 21 stages each. Only champions of that faction can enter, so this is not a test of one strong team but of roster depth. Rewards are silver, tomes, shards and star milestones along the way, and the grand prize for clearing every crypt is Lydia the Deathsiren. Runs cost no energy, so you can retry as much as you like.
Mechanics
- 21 stages per faction: bosses sit on stages 7, 14 and 21, with waves of regular enemies in between.
- Team building is locked to the faction — your healer, reviver, debuffer and damage dealer all have to come from the same pool.
- Each stage awards up to three stars, tied to how many champions survive. Losing half the team on the last wave costs you stars as well.
- Stars unlock reward milestones per crypt, so early stages are worth clearing cleanly.
- The waves before a boss often bring heals, shields and crowd control — that is where most runs fall apart.
- Stage 21 is the wall: the boss hits across the team, stacks debuffs and punishes slow setups. Farm stage 14 until you have a reviver and reliable healing.
What your team needs
- SPD: roughly 200–250+ on key champions by stage 21, otherwise waves move first and delete your support.
- ACC: around 200–250+ on debuffers — Decrease DEF, Weaken, Block Buffs, Heal Reduction and Provoke do nothing when they miss.
- Survivability: a tank around 40–60k HP and 3k+ DEF, a healer with a big HP pool, damage dealers on Lifesteal or behind shields.
- Must-have effects: healing and revive, Decrease DEF plus Weaken for burst, Block Revive against bosses with adds, Block Buffs and Heal Reduction against healing waves, and a cleanse for debuffs.
- Counterattack, ally attack, Block Damage and unkillable effects carry the weaker factions.
Teams
- Starter / budget — Dark Elves: Kael (poison and damage), Whisper and Fenax (single-target and AoE damage), plus any two faction champions as tank and healer. Works without legendaries because poison and focused burst do the job.
- Mid-game — Ogryn Tribes: Fahrakin the Fat (buffs and ally attacks), Uugo (Decrease DEF, healing, cleanse), Maneater (survival through Block Damage). The core covers both waves and the boss.
- Endgame — Knights Revenant: Lydia The Deathsiren (control and debuffs), Rector Drath (healing and revive), Miscreated Monster (shields and ally protection). The most self-sufficient trio for stage 21.
Common mistakes
- Walking into stage 21 without a reviver or real healing — one control wave ends the run.
- Building every faction champion for damage; waves need a tank and support to absorb them.
- Skimping on ACC so Decrease DEF and Weaken never land and your burst does nothing.
- Ignoring stars: finishing a stage with one survivor leaves the milestone locked and forces a replay.
Tips
- Gear: Lifesteal or Relentless on damage dealers, Speed + Accuracy on support, Immortal or Protection on tanks. Perception is the easy fix when you need both SPD and ACC on one champion.
- Masteries are mandatory: pick the boss-killer masteries on damage dealers and defensive/speed ones on support. Stage 21 does not fall over without them.
- Set up auto-battle: turn off unnecessary skills and raise the priority of heals and cleanses before the boss, or the AI burns them on adds.
- Toxic and Stun sets rescue weak factions — poison chips the boss down, stun holds the waves.
- Don't feed duplicate rares and epics of a faction, they are your crypt roster. Push one or two factions that have a real healer to 21 and park the rest on 14 for star farming.
