Guide: Arcane Keep

In short

Arcane Keep is where you farm Magic affinity potions — small, greater and superior — the ones you need to ascend Magic champions. It has twenty stages, the drops get bigger and more consistent the higher you go, and it has a reputation as the easiest farm in the game. You come here for potions, not for a challenge.

Mechanics

  • Short run: a couple of trash waves, then the boss. The waves only check whether you have enough damage and survivability.
  • The boss is a single high-HP target. Its threat is AoE damage and debuffs, not tricky mechanics.
  • Hard control (Stun, Freeze, Sleep, Provoke) doesn't stick on the boss — don't build around stun-locking it. Debuffs do work: Decrease DEF, Weaken, Poison, HP Burn, Decrease ATK and SPD.
  • Nothing new unlocks on higher stages — only HP and damage scale up. If you're stuck past stage 15, it's a stats problem, not a tactics problem.
  • If the final wave brings escorts (healers or buffers), kill them first — otherwise the boss keeps getting healed and buffed.

What your team needs

Rough targets for the top stages (much lighter on lower ones):

  • HP/DEF: 30–40k HP and 2000+ DEF on your support so the boss AoE doesn't delete them.
  • SPD: 170–200+ on support and debuffer so buffs and heals land before the boss swings.
  • ACC: 150–200 on debuffers so Decrease DEF and Weaken don't get resisted.
  • Effects you want: Decrease DEF (your main damage multiplier), Weaken, Poison or HP Burn for boss damage, heals and shields, and Block Buffs if the boss or its adds buff themselves.
  • Damage: one or two proper nukers; Poison and HP Burn are excellent here because they don't care how much HP the boss has.

Teams

  • Budget: Kael (poisons), Coldheart (boss damage plus turn meter control), Deacon Armstrong (SPD, Decrease DEF, heals), Ursala the Mourner (buffs, heals, revive), Vogoth (survivability and healing). No legendaries required.
  • Mid-game: Geomancer (HP-based passive damage on the boss), Stag Knight (Decrease ATK and DEF), Fahrakin the Fat (CRIT buff plus ally attacks), Godseeker Aniri (heals and support), Coldheart. Fast and consistent without a complicated setup.
  • End-game: Cardiel or Siphi the Lost Bride for support and tempo, Acrizia or Gnut for HP-scaling boss damage, Marichka the Unbreakable for safety, Prince Kymar or Yumeko to reset skills and speed up clears. At this point you optimise clear speed, not survival.

Common mistakes

  • Pushing stage 20 with no masteries and 4★ gear — it can work, but not reliably.
  • Ignoring the boss's escorts and tunnelling the boss only.
  • Five damage dealers with no heals or debuffs; the AoE wipes them on the upper stages.
  • Farming low stages where mostly small potions drop — slower per energy spent.

Tips

  • Always auto-battle, and set skill priorities so debuffs and buffs fire before damage.
  • Masteries: Giant Slayer / Warmaster on your damage dealers is a real chunk of damage against that much boss HP.
  • Sets: Lifesteal on damage dealers for self-sustain, Speed on support, Accuracy on debuffers, Toxic on your poisoner, Relentless if you want extra turns.
  • Don't sell potions — ascending Magic champions eats them by the dozen.
  • Clear your highest available stage first, then farm that one on auto: better drops for the same energy.
